I'm a bit confused in your terminology,

It's a dark UNSATURATED blue....

and the next line:

It's very SATURATED, shades nicely....

I'm thinking your referring to two different properties of the ink, the second the dye load, but could you clarify what you mean by the first?

My monitor shows this as a dark blue in the extreme, with a tiny bit of shading. Which of the pens did you use for the body of the text? The Noodler's flex or the Herbin glass pen?

BTW, Love your reviews, already bought way too much ink because of them! :puddle:

Thanks for this great review. I really enjoy this color, though only in broader nibbed pens, as it looks nearly black in an XF nib.

Gah! Didn't catch that. And thanks! It's most certainly a saturated ink. I wrote this review at 1:30 in the morning and it had been a very long day :headsmack:, so disregard the unsaturated remark.

The the main portions of the review are always written with the same Noodler's Flex as the title and the Flex example.

Indeed, looking forward to my bottle as well. Thanks for a fine review.

Thanks for another great review. I was expecting more of a navy blue ink rather than the almost black on my screen . Lovely close-up of the shading!

To quote Willow (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), "Bored now."

In other words, nothing's wrong with the label. It's great! I have one just like it!

  • 4 weeks later...

I got a bottle of Starry Night Blue from the recent sale. I may have to try it in a wider nib as I was hoping for a gorgeous dark blue. Mine seems as dark or darker than your scans here in a Lamy Al-Star F nib. I really want to love this ink.

Gah! Didn't catch that. .... I wrote this review at 1:30 in the morning....

That also explains the lack of "sheen" rating (you started it!). I've yet to create an "oh-dark-thirty" sheen detector, also. ;)

Another thing, what is "bleedout"? Other than that, another marvelous ink review, of which I''m closely analyzing for valuable info. Your reviews are incredibly helpful.
