Yellow Ink

There are three reasons I can think of to have yellow ink, and writing is not one of them. First use is for ink mixing; the second, for highlighting; third, for art. Yellow inks are just too light to be useful for writing.

I'll use Noodler's Firefly + Diamine Deep Magenta to mix 'hot' Red inks, especially for billets doux.

That writing is just beautiful!

I really like the Iroshizuku Ina-Ho, which is a similar golden color to the DeAtramentis Gold, but a bit browner. Both are beautiful I think.

I've kind of got a bit of a want to buy a yellow ink.. just because it's yellow. I just cannot see the use of it though, and I am loathe to buy something I won't use. Does anybody use yellow ink on a regular basis, and if so what for? What is your favourite yellow ink? Sell me teh yellow! :roflmho:

I like gold color inks (DeAtramentis Gold and my new favorite Sailor Nagasawa Shinkaichi Gold).. they are very elegant when using vintage paper. But the only yellow ink I bought it was by mistake.. Bouton D'or (J. Herbin). I really thought it will be a gold color (D'or.. duh!!!) - it is a very... VERY light yellow. Impossible to read.

So I use it for mixing purposes. I don't have any orange inks, and I just mix a little sample batch (2mls) a 2:1 ratio of Bouton D'or with Rouge Hematite. I got a nice vibrant orange. I was hoping for some shading, but it doesn't look like it.
