Handwriting Sample

I cannot believe that I didn't notice all these replies just now! If I hadn't thought of uploading a new writing sample just now, I might've never seen these :wacko:

pmhudepo:
I've been doing the same of late; whenever I get the chance to, I whip out a pen and paper, then start writing. It could be random verse or journal entries, sometimes even segments of conversation I happen to be hearing (not eavesdropping upon :rolleyes: ).

caliken:

Belated congratulations on your 3000th post! Also, thanks to you and Mickey for the advice. I'll try that now and see where that leads me, haha.

Anyway, update on my penmanship as of five minutes ago:

Here is a tip from a former "I write illegible letters" writer:

Write slowly. Write deliberately.

Apart from that...

it's a general rule of a thumb in penmanship that capitals and "tall" letters (d, b, l, and such) are twice the height of the smaller letters (a, c, e, e.t.c.). If you look at the penmanship practice sheet, that's how the line's distributed. Your tall letters are about 3 times the height of smaller letters, which is why your handwriting looks spikey. Your alphabet-writing at the bottom of the sample does not look spikey because the tall letters are about double the height of the smaller letters.

I've also noticed that leaving a trail for the end of words generally make handwriting look better.

If you want to see what I mean, PM me, and I'll show you a sample (I'm certainly not GClef, but I did get A's in penmanship!).

Tes rires retroussés comme à son bord la rose,

Effacent mon dépit de ta métamorphose;

Tu t'éveilles, alors le rêve est oublié.
