... The .6mm nib is wonderful. I think that it is the perfect size for general journal writing. ...

Agreed! I also have the 0.8mm, but I prefer the 0.6!

I have both the Fission and the Singularity and they are very different pens. Almost completely different. The Singularity is lighweight to the point of feeling cheap, and the convertor tends to rattle in the barrel. Still, I like the overall design and it feels great to draw with.

The Fission is so heavy it might make a better paperweight than a pen. That and the slick metal section make it difficult to maneuver. I thought the threads on the barrel for posting would be a good idea, and in some ways it is, but it makes engaging the pen quite a process. By the time I unscrew the cap, then re-screw it onto the barrel, I have forgotten what I was going to write down.

Sorry to sound negative, but these pens just have different uses. The Singulartiy is a good field pen; light and inexpensive. The fission is a better desk or journaling pen, when actully slowing down is part of the intention. They both write great though. These Nemesoine nibs are as smooth as they come.

That's great! Does anyone know though if the Singularity's nibs will fit the Fission as well?

They are basically the same pen in size. The only difference is the pen's material. Singularity is plastic and the Fission is metal. According to xfountainpens, the nibs will fit either one.

I'm finding that I prefer the 0.6mm as well. The 0.8mm would be nice for greeting cards since I use a larger script when I write these. I'm glad that I purchased both sizes. Both nibs write smoothly and neither needed any tuning once on the Nemosine Fission pens.

I picked up one of these pens, in "Classic Red" last week. It came mounted with the broad nib, but I picked up a medium and fine nib to experiment with. The broad nib writes slightly wet, but extremely smooth. I've not skipped or leaked yet. When using larger script this pen really flies along the paper. However, my personal writing style is to use a fine point in the ball point pen world, so I'll be swapping the nibs the first chance I can get.

Nemosine: Fission, Singularity, and Neutrino are all excellent pens in my experience. F nibs and all are smooth and flawless writers. They are better performers than their price suggests.

I hope yours are also...

cheers
