Can A Man Use Yama Budo?

I have it and I hardly ever use it anymore because it is IMO too pink (optically as re figuratively). I have absolutely nothing against females (har, har), but for me this ink is just too unmanly, too unsolid, too unsteadfast, too unearthy and all that.

Of course you can! Nothing wrong with a bit of magenta/pink ink. Be loud and proud in your ink choice!

A REAL MAN is confident in his manhood and can use any color of ink he pleases.

:roflmho: Maybe women should think twice about using blue. roflmho.gif

I don't think there are any "masculine" colors at all in the cultures I've lived in, only certain colors that are considered "feminine", so from where I sit, I don't see much point in women arguing that they're not considered masculine because they write with blue or black. The question about a magenta ink for a man is, OTOH, a cogent one. If in your culture magenta, pink, and lavender are not considered feminine, then you can say no. But I'm pretty sure where I live the answer is yes. Acknowledging this reality is different from condoning it. Heck, I bought a Yama Budo Heritage 91 off Ebay and filled it with Noodler's Ottoman Rose. I didn't care what anybody thought, but even my own wife said it looked girly. YMMV

I know my id is "mhosea", but you can call me Mike. It's an old Unix thing.

Hi. I am a man. When i first started using yama budo, I liked it, but it eventually turned me gay before i finished my first bottle. If you do use it, please consider the ramifications.

I find it to be a medium to dark purple/magenta.

I will gladly take your unwanted Noodler's pens. Don't throw them away.

I use Yama-Budo frequently...I am a Man and honestly I couldn't care less what other people think. I am married to an Artist so maybe that has had an effect on me???

GP...I would use both except I don't really like pink ink...at least not found one yet...but I do carry and use my Pink "Breast Cancer Awareness" Passaporto daily now in honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month...if I filled it with Orange ink (which I love!) would that count? :happyberet: ;)

Well being happy is always a good reason to use and ink!

I am really interested in Yama Budo but being partially color blind, I can't figure out if it is too feminine for a man to use away from the privacy of his own home. Will Yama Budo get me laughed at?

1: Honestly, I don't think so, A real man would use it to attract the opposite sex...

2: If anyone laughs, it's only because they they are too caught up in their 'manhood' to attract the opposite sex, and likely will be home alone latter...

:ltcapd: If you know what I mean...

And I have used red/pink/magenta inks at work before, and trust me... NO ONE LAUGHS AT ME....

Yep.

I usta wear a rather nice light pink tie my daughter bought me for Xmas with a light gray dress shirt (only thing I had it went with). Surprisingly, I would get compliments from some rather lovely ladies who thought it quite manly to have the guts to wear such a combo. An old Miami Vice fashion thing, I guess.

I like the ink and do not find it pink. I have it loaded in a Tibaldi and a Dupont right now and find it is very well behaved. It seems to me to feather out less easily than some other inks.

However, a full page of it may not be right for lots of business circumstances and I can see where using it under certain circumstances might make some people feel you are not being serious enough. I doubt I would write a page with it if I had to give that page to anyone in a business circumstance.

This thread is very disturbing. Next thing you know men will be using chap stick. (99 percent kidding, so don't anyone get riled up, please)

I never ever under any circumstances can take any man whatsoever seriously again who has ever so much as glimpsed at the slightest trace of Yamabudo.

If you still want to keep the respect of some nobody on the internet (who you most likely won't ever meet in real life) I strongly advise you to ban even the word from your mind.

:hmm1:

Greetings,

Michael

I am not a fan of pinks or light red colors. Not because I am not in touch with my feminine side but because I can never see a time in which I would use such a color.

Saying that, I bought Yama Budo as one of my ink purchases as an underlining and column writing ink. It is easily bright enough to be seen when flipping through a book looking for your notes. I love the color and am near the end of my bottle which has happened a lot faster than I ever imagined. It is a perfectly well behaved ink that I use when grading papers and taking notes and I haven't had anyone say anything about it yet!
