For those that are worried, My M1005 demonstrator is not discoloured at all after many changes (mainly noodlers ink). I have rinsed and let it air dry. Perfectly clear barrel.

None of my demonstrators other than my Noodler's which was discolored by Diamine ink (I love the irony) have ever had permanent discoloration.

I went to your website, do think you'll be stocking the rubitano inks?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Gentlyom, I have carried this pen to work daily for a couple of weeks in the past. I cycle through my pens and use a different one continuously for a short period of time. There is always the risk of losing it accidently and so I am extra vigilant when I carry the M1005.

I found Regina on eBay. I didn't even know who she was. Just lucky i guess because she only had three pens on for sale (two other ones not M1005).

I just bought two Pelikans from Regina and found her to be fabulous to work with. I have been shopping for 5+ years (translation: I didn't have the money at the time) and never found better prices. She shipped the pens on the day of the auction win and they arrived to me in the U.S. in less than 2 weeks. She seems to have up-ed her stock - with loads of Pelikans.

Thank you for a great review with the superb pictures. My last purchase was the M1005. It is everything that it is billed to be. The 1005 definitely outshines every other pen I have used.

Out of curiosity, how did you manage to snap a Lamy 2000 in half? While writing, no less.

It's an excellent review, but that's pretty much what stuck in my mind XD

No. I was not exactly writing with the lamy 2000 when it snapped. I unscrewed it to clean it and it just broke on the first turn. The makralon simply sheared off in half at the base of the threads. Most of the barrel was still in the nib holder. I have the hands of a surgeon and was very careful at the time. I also use very light pressure when writing, pretty much gliding across the page. Will never buy a 2000 again despite loving the design and comfort.

Oh, that! The exact same thing happened to my 2000 not too long after purchasing it. The problem has something to do with the redesigned section innards, from what I can tell; the steel thread in the section kinda just eats away at the Makrolon on the barrel, which makes maintenance on this pen a bit of a nerve-wracking experience. As I type, my Lamy 2000 is still somewhere in transit to Germany for repairs and whatnot. I've been waiting for several months now, though, three months longer than the total time I've had the Lamy in my possession.

Anyway, Lamy is really great with customer service. Maybe you could talk to your distributor and convince them that it's not your fault you wanted to be thorough in cleaning your pen. That's what I did, anyway.

Cheers!

I like the physical appearance (colours, shape, size, weight, etc.) of the SOUVERÄN pens. I am wondering if I should buy more of these similar pens.

Regina has numerous M1005 for auction at her web site http://www.martiniauctions.com/browse.html

they can be bought for about 225Euros or about $320.

I like my M1005 Fine, I found the Medium nib too wet. I have recently gone back to my M600 tortoise shell which I love with Diamine green black ink.

Thanks for your nice review and pics.

Wow! Now 4 short years later they go for €775...they really were a good investment. I'd love to buy one, but I think out of my price range...

You are welcome. I love Pelikan too. It is probable the best bang for buck pen out there.
