The Pelikan White Tortoise I have. Just never saw anything as pretty to my eye. Filled with Calamo Moss Green....mmmmm, delightful.

I seem to be very partial to Classic Pens these days. For the most beautiful pen that I own, I can't make up my mind between these two, an LM1 Flame Red and a prototype ZJ2 that did not make the cut to go into production.

For the most beautiful pen that I have seen, it would be the LB4 Tahiti. I don't have my own photo of that pen so here's a link to it on the Classic Pens web site: http://classicpensinc.com/LB/LB4.htm

You let me down Bill. ;)

I would have expected this one to have been one of your favs. If not this one, the blue one like it.

Yes, that one is still a favorite, but the Classic Pens shown above seem to have eclipsed the Targas. I seem to have many favorites these days, but this thread asked for one that I own and one that I have seen. I stretched it a bit in showing two that I own because I couldn't decide between them. I didn't think it would be appropriate to show 25 or so "most beautiful" pens that I own. There would certainly be several Targas in my top 25 list. Also several Italian pens.

'ever seen' is a moving target.

'own':

Since this question is about "taste", and there is no way of accounting for it, the most beautiful pen I have seen is my PFM V with a gold cap and black body. I enjoy writing with this pen simply because I enjoy its looks.

My favorite everyday writer, however, is still my blue Aurora Optima.

I only have two pens - an Aurora Optima and others.

That's a really difficult question! My gut reaction surprised me. Two pictures sprang to mind immediately however.

The first is not a big surprise... I adore the MB Charlie Chaplin skeleton and even more the 75th anniversary skeleton (pic below, swoon! )

Given that I am a super-magpie and absolutely love bling-y pens...I'm surprised that the most beautiful pen I've seen in a very long time is by a member of this forum, Scriptorium pens. The alabaster and ruby resin pen she listed on her gallery makes my head swim and I -am- going to order something very much like it as soon as I can...

Pics linked from her website here

PS Edited because I typo-d all over my post -_-

I'm a very vintage kind of guy, so this works for me. I have a blue one and a green one :)

However, I just bought a 1936? Sheaffer Craftsman fullsize Balance (vacufil with no white dot) like this one below, so I'm looking for parts. The one I have actually has a little bit of flex in the nib, not a nail like in the white dot models.

I would like to thank OcalaFLGuy for giving me a screaming case of what us musicians call GAS (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome)... I want this pen. Bad. I have the perfect pen right here to use for parts too.

Most beautiful pen I own - the Tibaldi Iride (also one of the best writers I own). I don't have a pic but here is a link to a review:

https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/8211-tibaldi-iride/

The most beautiful I've seen, not sure, the Iride takes some beating. The 3-dimensionality (that really doesn't sound like a real word, I know) of the black, caramel and bronze flakes in the celluloid is something to behold. Best of all, it is a comfortable everyday writer. I'm in the process of selling 30 of my pens to get down to a realistic, and manageable, ten pens. The Iride was the first on my list of keepers.

Visually, it was true blue and white patterned, lovely, elegant, not overly fussy.

May have been Japanese.

I did not focus on the maker. It's not a pen I will ever own. Also, pen size and function comfortably adapted to one's hand is important to me.

Visually, every time I happen upon this lovely pen, its sight alone is a gift. I smile, ahhh there it is again!

Next, i truly do appreciate when others take the time to express the special qualities that they find in their pens. Their perspective in the sharing is what makes this hobby rich, and exciting.

Also appreciate well balanced simplicity in design.

i am surprised no one has mentioned watermans patricians and lady patricians persian style celluloids. its probably the only pen i can think of that gets better as it decays and discolors

Difficult to decide which is the most beautiful pen I own, its between the MB Alexander Dumas, MB 149 75th Anniversary, or my Pelikan M800 Brown Tortoiseshell.

As for the most beautiful, there just isn't an answer for me as far as I'm concerned, too many beautiful ones out there!

Fountain pens are like weapons. They just make your pocket bleed so much.

Wow, that copper pen does indeed look beautiful. For me, the metal smell on your fingers would be off putting though.

Most beautiful pen I've ever seen? That would have to be a Nakaya Portable Cigar without clip, in Kuro-tamenuri.
