All of these pens are just wonderful to look at!

This is the pen that tickled my fancy more than anything I've seen here or anywhere else:

These pens are discontinued and they are surprisingly scarce from what I've been finding so far. I would just LOVE to have that pen and put it in a display case.

While it's really hard to choose what is the MOST beautiful pen, I will (at least today) select this one: the "Urashima Taro" by Dani-Trio. I have to say that at least part of the reason I am so captivated by this pen is that I am so enamored of the story it depicts.

Urashima Taro is an old Japanese story about a poor young fisherman, named Urashima Taro, who comes across some boys tormenting an old sea turtle. Taro rescues the turtle and sets it free. A few days later Taro encounters the turtle again, and the turtle invites Taro to come with him to an undersea palace. When they arrive, Taro meets the princess ruler of the undersea country. He happily spends a few days there, but soon decides to go back home for a visit. The princess gives him a box and tells him not to open it except in case of trouble. Taro arrives home to find that everything has changed and everyone he knows has vanished. Thinking he has encountered some trouble, he opens the box and is immediately transformed into an impossibly old man. He discovers that his few days in the undersea land equaled a hundred years in his home town.

The story is widely recognized as the world's first time-travel story.

I'm not really sure what to make of the story, but for some reason, I'm very drawn to it, and in turn am drawn to this beautiful pen.

I think the pen sells for around $15,000 - so I don't have one... yet.

I don't know if it's beautiful but I consider the Pelikan Souveran in Blue/Black/Gold to be one of the elegant pens I have ever seen. I am lucky enough to own one in the 600 size.

Here's another photo of my humble S.T. Dupont collection. I find the shape of the Orpheo really beautiful.

St Dupont Andalousie is the one that makes me drool. A lot of beautiful pen out there, of course, and some of these maki-e, or raden and so on are incredible, but this Dupont makes me dream and would be my "if money-was-no-object" pen.

The other pen that impresses me is the Lamy 2000 in stainless steel. This pen is impressive, and I am happy to report that I own one...

It may be a bit modern, but the Lamy 2000 is perhaps my favorite. Elegant and understated, something Captain Picard would use.

I agree, but wouldn't consider it a "modern" pen-- I believe it was designed in the 1960s!! By a Braun guy and read somewhere that his designs are Steve Job's inspiration for his hardware and apps.

That is a stunning pen! What model is it?

I absolutely love the Waterman Edson Limited Edition Sterling Silver. I hope to own one one day

For now the most beautiful pen I own, to me, is my Edison Collier Silver Marble.

Of all the pens in my collection this is the most beautiful of them all.

This pen belonged to my late Father he kept it in its box next to his radio and used it to complete his crossword puzzles.

I keep coming back to this pen. For some reason, it "clicks" with me. It's the MB Pope Julius II.
