I guess the easy answer is going to be the next one I make.....

Last fountain I made was this one:

The one before that:

It's hard to see something I've worked on leave the house for a new home, but I have a great wife that pours resin for me(and others). So there will always be the next one.....

The most beautiful pen I have ever seen (so far) is my latest purchase: a Mabie Todd 'Swan' Visolfil V from the mid-1930s in brown and gold pearlised celluloid, converted to a bulb filler by (I believe) our own eckiethump:

The photo doesn't do it justice; the celluloid has a depth and sheen to it which can only be seen in the flesh, so to speak.

MB Brandenburg for only €16,900 or so.

A steal.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

I can't say what is the most beautiful pen I own but here are some that I consider beautiful.

Handled: Montblanc Proust at a FL FPN meetup.

Owned: Toss-up between blue Aurora Optima and blue/green Visconti Wall Street (but really there are few slouches in my blues collection--maybe the Studio is ugliest, but it is my best writing Lamy and that is saying something).

By the way, great looking orange pen, Scott. Nice work.

The one most beautiful pen ever? Impossible. But a few come to mind...

Green Parker Vacumatic, double jeweled. Wonderful. I have one.

Pelikan Blue O' Blue. I don't have one.

Sheaffer'S carmine red Balance. My partner has one.

For now.

Let me offer up a few pens from my collection.

This one's not quite fair since it's not one pen. But as a gestalt, the Nakaya Rainbow has a certain beauty.

Another Columbus. A Columbus 102 that combines the beautiful striated azure celluloid made famous by Parker with the classic body of 1930's Italian pens.

That I have come across:

  • any Montblanc Gray Striated or Tiger's Eye
  • this particular Pelikan Merz & Krell 400NN
  • 1991 Visconti Ragtime
  • 2003 Montegrappa America's Cup LE - the one that got away
  • 2008 Graf von Faber-Castell Pen of the Year
  • various Montblanc LEs
  • any Omas Bronze Arco

The funny thing is that simple, black pens always manage to steal my heart instead:

  • Omas MoMA
  • Franklin-Christoph 1901
  • Dunhill Sentryman Black Tie
  • Pasha de Cartier
  • my own MB 146s
