Snail Mail Writing List

Recommended Posts

I'll give this another go.

I'm a 32 y.o. male, married with two kids.

I'm a registered nurse. Originally from Japan, lived in Texas for 10 years, now in Canada for 6 years.

My interests are reading, fountain pens (of course), wet shaving, sports, etc.

I am looking for pen pals anywhere in the world.

Any age, background, countries, but guys only (sorry, my wife is traditional and feels unconfortable having correspondence with women)

PM me if you are looking for a pen pal.

KG

Maybe your wife would like some penfriends!

That would be great but...

That'll never happen. LOL

I'm content that she tolerates my pen habit and growing ink collection. :D

I won't push it any further

Hi Folks,

I'm looking to correspond with some people in the UK, USA, Canada, Japan or anywhere for that matter, I enjoy writing to and hearing from people, sadly several of the people I corresponded with on a regular basis seemed to have dropped off which is so sad. :(

Kind regards

Nigel

Four pen pals. I have enough for now! I'll only make exceptions for language partners. Otherwise, thanks everyone!

For those not getting letters of late, it's been summer and people are usually super busy! :)

I am in no way making excuses for no letters....................from me, heehee..............but just saying! Letters mail both directions and I'm happy to send even if I haven't heard from some of mine in awhile...and I wrote last. Just send them a quick note making sure life is good!

So, what's your point?

(Mine is a flexible F.)

I joined the forum after a very long time lurking so I can share letters with all you fabulous folks.

I live in Northern OH. I am at my core a nerd and enjoy writing, reading, and typing. I am likely to write letters on books, writing, Doctor Who, calligraphy, pens, paper, ink, watercolor painting, horrible weather, delicious tea, and goats (why do they climb trees? -it's so creepy).

If you'd like to correspond please send me a message. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Hey all,

I've had a bit of a dearth of good letters recently, with some people dropping out for various reasons, so I'm looking for some new people I can try all my pens out on!

A bit of background: I'm originally from Yorkshire, England, and currently studying in London. Aside from pens (of course) and physics (my degree) I'm a massive theatre person. I love going to see shows, and I also do backstage stuff (mostly stage management and lighting design) in my spare time.

I also watch a lot of classic British TV (mostly sitcoms: Blackadder, Jeeves and Wooster, etc; but also Doctor Who and the like) and love reading as well as writing.

I'd love to hear from anyone and I'm happy to send/receive letters anywhere in the world so please do drop me a message if you're interested.

All the best,
Gautam

Oh man, I'd love to start getting letters from fountain pen enthusiasts like myself!

I was born and raised in Chicago and I'm currently attending university here also. I enjoy journaling in my traveler's notebook, planning (weird hobby, I know, LOL!) and collecting all and every bit of stationery I can find. Some other hobbies of mine that are more unconventional are cosplaying and going to the thrift store every weekend in hopes of finding some cool antique or knick-knack.

I'm quite young, 18, and I know a lot of people don't like sending letters to someone this age but trust me... I'm fun! I promise (hah.)

I'm half Korean and half Vietnamese and I'm fluent in both languages so I could also write in those languages if anyone wants to learn them. :)

Hope to hear from you soon,

Quynh (Pronounced 'Quinn')

Looking for a new penpal. I am a history teacher with a masters in American History so I would love to chat all things history. I absolutely loathe politics so if thats your vibe, don't bother. I love sports with American football, baseball, basketball and rugby being my favorites. I am a vintage hat collector and all of my pens are modern because I had terrible luck with vintage pens. I also am interested in becoming more handy around the house. I think I covered my interests pretty well...

I would like to exchange letters with one or several persons, who are incidentally into fountain pens and hand writing. I do not care whether the writing is printing or cursive, or whatever one wishes to label his/her style. I do not care about the gender of my correspondent(s). But! I might not be the ideal correspondent for just anyone.

I am a curmudgeonly 66 year old, pedantic (but trying to be more tolerant), liberal (reformed conservative), skeptic (reformed religionist). I am college educated and strive to increase and improve my knowledge constantly by participating in forums (fora?) such as this (see next paragraph) and reading history, philosophy and other non-fiction, as well as revisiting classical literature.

In short, I AM willing to exchange thoughts about politics, religion, other philosophical areas, language usage (regular reader of & contributor to "A Way With Words"), and so forth. I am perfectly willing to have such discussions with rational folk who disagree with me and have rational thoughts to back up their positions.

At the same time, if anyone is interested, I like history, especially American, from Colonial through early republic times, without the current R vs D bickering.

Also, I will brag about my kids and grandkids now and then; naturally, they are fantastic!

Hey guys,

I'd love to have another excuse to write. A pen pal or two would be great!

I'm an 18-year-old guy, but I don't mind talking to people who are older than I am. :) I live in the Houston area (for you non-US residents, Houston is in TX ;) ) and I got interested in fountain pens about three or four months ago. A good friend of mine lent me his Safari and I was hooked. I binge-watched all of Goulet's instructional videos. Then when I was done with those, I discovered The Pen Habit and Stephen Brown's videos. I now own over ten fountain pens and quite a few bottles of ink.

A few things you should know about me. I am a Christian and I would generally consider myself conservative, from a political perspective. That being said, I'm not going to debate you about politics or religion (unless, I guess, you like that sort of thing). I am a huge Doctor Who fan and I love sci-fi books/movies/tv. I'm also a pretty big sports fan (football/baseball).

Hope to hear from some of you soon!

Jonathan

I'd love to strike up a pen-and paper dialogue over the analogue webs!

I suppose interests are a good (though perhaps clichéd) place to start. So, without further fuss, a few things I love:

Books. I read fiction almost exclusively (if I get a few non-fiction in each year I'm pretty proud of myself....). I read fiction fanatically. My "to read" shelf has grown to two shelves, and these books are squeezed tight in there. My comfort genres are science fiction, fantasy, and magical realism, though that is by no means an exhaustive list of what I read. I also try to squeeze in the prize winners: Pulitzers, Bookers, Hugos, etc.... I'd love to be able to discuss books and share recommendations. I'm not a big "lit crit" kind of person though - I can't wrap my heart around deconstructing a novel or examining the subtext of a secondary character's hopes and desires. I tend to be a big-picture sort of reader.

Writing. I journal daily, and am working on starting a book. Yes, I meant it that way: I'm working on starting. The mind is a funny thing, and mine is currently conflicted about Novel Writing. I will win this struggle. I also enjoy writing letters, of course. Once, way back when, when I was young and the internet wasn't the cheap and easy thing that it is, I wrote letters. On paper. With envelopes and stamps. I loved doing that. Would love doing that now. And, I love the process of writing. I like my handwriting. I'm learning copperplate, dip pen and all. I adore fountain pens, though I'm more a user than a collector. I love ink. Using up a barrel and refilling my Lamy 2000 makes me very, very happy. And, a natural conclusion to this parapgraph: I enjoy nice paper. I look forward to exploring the world of fountain-pen-friendly stationery.

I appreciate fibers, especially yarn. I can knit, but I strongly prefer crochet. I recently discovered that there is a difference between nice yarn and the "saver bundle" at the local chain craft store. I am always looking for cool crochet patterns that don't look like something I found at a flea market, or my old Aunt Sue's hope chest.

Aunt Sue is fictional.

And, finally, I'm kind of eclectic. I love learning new things, being exposed to new ideas. I am open minded except when it comes to people who are not open minded (yes, I am aware of the irony). I'm pretty normal, except when I'm not.

If that makes sense to you, I'd love to exchange details!

Hello Jonathan - I'm a bit older than you at 66 but I have been interested in fountain pens for about a month. Have followed Pen Habit and SBREBrown as well as a few Goulet's videos. I've got one Pilot Metropolitan and have a Pilot Elite 95s on the way. Got ink too! No special paper yet. I am a Christian, conservative, don't care to talk politics, gets me too worked up. I am into Science fiction but haven't caught onto Dr. Who though I have a rough idea who Who is. My wife follows football more than I do. I'm retired and bee's and pen's seem to be my major interests at this point. I love to read, to my wifes exasperation, but I manage to get it in via NOOK and Kindle and Wattpad. I'd like to do a bit of correspondence if you're interested. You can email me at ayersrock2014@gmail.com. We can exchange addresses and anything else you need to cover at that point. Hope to hear from you,

Edward

My name is Mandy, and I'm from Singapore. I've only really recently began my journey with fountain pens and calligraphy, and would love to find pen pals.

I'll just introduce myself in brief pointers here:

- I'm 25 years old (will be 26 in about 2 months' time)

- I'm ethnically Chinese but English is my first language and honestly, my Mandarin is not that fluent.

- I've learnt Korean before for about a year, but I've been learning Japanese for the past 2 years and still continuing.

- I have a Bachelor's in Pharmacy, worked as a pharmacist for a few years, but I've now quit and am starting on a Master's in English Literature (my secret passion all along)

I absolutely wouldn't mind being pen pals with anyone from any country. :)

This is a little scary for me, but I think it would be good for me as well.

I live in Holmes County Ohio

I'm 50 years old, married 10 years, no children.

My wife works, I stay at home.

I am an abstract artist

I've been wanting to write a novel, so far no go.

I hate politics

?? what else?

I'm always looking for ideas for a story, etc.

I recently started getting into fountain pens, about a week now.

I love my Lamy Safari

I love abstract art of course,

I have a classical music background (I used to play the double bass), but listen to little music, if not at all.

anywho

I have nothing to hide, so...

Hello FPNers!

Is anyone interested in a letter and parcel exchange? My hobbies and interests are pens and letter writing (of course!), gardening, cooking, tea, music (different genre - a little of this and that), books, pets (keeping dogs and cats and fish) ... I'd like to request, though, that we keep the cost of the item and the expense of the postage down to reasonable levels (i.e, cheap!).

From my end, I'd probably send seed packets, tea bags, a CD, a light book that I've read and enjoyed, cooking-related gizmos...

I'd probably go through with this less frequently than my usual turn-around for letters (I can see my pen pals rolling their eyes!). I do tend to disappear for months, so it would be nice to exchange parcels/letters with someone who is willing to put up with a slow and easy 2 to 4 exchanges per year.

Anyone? :) I'm sorry, but since this is a bit more work than the average letter, I'd like to add only one more new pen friend in this category. If any of my current snail mail pals see this, and are interested to try this out for a couple of exchanges, that would be great, too!

Oh and it is only fair to mention that I am in the Philippines. :)
