I would be interested in a pen pal or two. I am a 30 yo mom of 3 in Las Vegas. I just recently decided to go back to school for a BA in Creative Writing and English. I love writing, knitting, gaming, learning about various things, fooling around with Linux and other open sources software, sewing, digital photography and of course collecting pens and ink. PM me if interested.

Life isn't always what you make it. Sometimes it just falls in your lap and you have to deal with it.

Hi

I am a 43 year old guy from South Africa and married with children. My love for fountain pens grew out of a general love for stationary and I recently inherited a Parker 51 which my late Gran used when writing to her almost 300 pen pals from all over the world. I would like to improve my penmanship and have also started to try and learn a little calligraphy. We are generally limited in terms of availability of fountain pens in SA but I have around 4 Lamy's, 3 Parkers, 2 Pilot M's and 1 Kaweco

I am also a Christian and struggle in certain areas of life like most people do and I sometimes find I am too honest and caring for my own good.

Would love to try writing to a couple of penpals and see how it goes. It would be nice to hear from people who are interested in stimulating conversation but can be light hearted as well.

Oh yes, I also love chess and would be quite keen to try some correspondance chess like they did in the old days. I am by no means a brilliant player but there is just something intriguing and nostalgic about setting up a board and waiting for the next move added in the next letter by snail mail.

Thanks

Shane

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm still looking for a few more penpals! Anywhere in the world is great! I build Legos, play and teach the piano, enjoy cooking and baking, and cross stitching.

I'm waiting for 4 more pens that should be here this week. That would give me a total of 10.

Please let me know if you are interested!

I'm not sure that I have time for lots of pen-friending but I could manage one or two...

I'm a fifty year old lady writer and illustrator, which means I'm also poverty stricken. I live on the South coast of England, by the sea, in a run down town with a pier and a pebble beach. I'm married with step kids and my husband is a musician, so we're both stark raving mad. I'm interested in literature, art, photography, jewellery, esoterica of all kinds; the only things that bore me rigid are politics and beastliness of any kind. I collect erotica as well as pens and I have a lot of tattoos.

Please PM me if you're interested!

I‘m having a great time writing letters to several FPN’ers, but my pens get bored on those days with no one to write. I need a few more pen pals who like quick response letters and can put up with random inks, occasional handmade envelopes and wax seals. U.S. or international, basic or over the top, I enjoy it all. Message me to get going.

Thanks for the responses. I have enough pen pals now to keep my pens busy.

Jonathan B. (jburchett)

I'm a 21 year old male and I am currently an undergraduate majoring in Biology, aspiring to become a Physical Therapist. I live in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains of Southwest Virginia. My fountain pen love started close to a year ago. Since then I have aquired close to 40 fountain pens, many cheap with a few mid-range. I'm trying to improve my penmanship and I enjoy writing letters. I enjoy making new acquaintances, so let's be pen pals!

I wouldn't mind one or two more. Feel free to give my profile a look. If you'd like to exchange correspondence, message me and I'll gladly give you my mailing address.

I really enjoy writing letters. I'm 63, love using vintage pens especially Esterbrooks. I'm retired on a disability. Huge trivia buff. Happily married. I like to read, both fiction and non-fiction.

Hi all!

I don't want to give too much information about me on a forum, but I'm willing to give snail mail a try.

I come from Spain and I'm in my mid-thirties. In the past I had several pen pals, but life happened and we stopped writing letters and switched to Facebook, which I don't like too much. I miss getting real paper letters.

After a trip to Amsterdam I fell in love with The Netherlands. I'm learning the language (at the moment I'm able to say hello, thank you and good bye, but it will get better!) and I'm reading a lot of books about the country and its culture. I don't know how many of you here on the FPN are Dutch, but if there's anybody who would like to exchange letters with me, please, send me a PM.

Edited: not only Dutch people, but everybody is welcome.

Would love to get into this! Looking for excuses to use the fountain pens and try to improve my handwriting. I've tried to update the profile but it won't let me yet for some reason. So a little about me: I'm 25, I have an undergraduate in religious studies and am part way through my MA in theology. I'm from Newfoundland but my wife and I are living and working in Alberta. We have a greyhound named J.J. And a bearded dragon named Lloyd. I work in the oil industry right now in an oil sands mine here in northern Alberta. My interests are theology, history, a little philosophy, traditional wet shaving and fountain pens/ink/stationary. I only discovered my interest in fountain pens a month or so ago and currently only have three not so pricy pens, a few inks and types of paper but I love it so far.

I'd like to add some people to my writing list. I live outside of Jackson MS and love to write with a fountain pen. I like SciFi, horror, comics, brit comedy and Brodway plays.

Hi all, I'd love to participate in this, get to know some new people and improve my handwriting. My name's Matthew and I'm studying Mathematical Physics in the UK (Nottingham). My hobbies (besides a growing interest in pens and inks that I'll have to start earning properly before I really get into) include cooking (especially Asian and Middle-Eastern cuisines), music, fitness (I'm a co-captain of a quidditch team, which is great fun), languages, anthropology and comedy.

Can't wait to hear from a few of you: I'll be a little limited on how many people I can write to regularly due to stamp-money and time, but I'll try to write to anyone who wants to hear from me.

Hello!

I'm a male college student from Tennessee. I'm pretty boring! But aren't we all! I enjoy a good period novel every now and again. Victor Hugo's Les Miserables is one of my favorite ones! I aspire to be the forbidden suitor in a Jane Austen book! I enjoy just about anything 'old fashioned'. I'm a civilian American Civil-war living historian. i frequent my local latin mass. I think the idea of getting letters from far away places is fascinating. I've studied German and French. I enjoy the outdoors. I hike, fly fish, rock climb, etc. I've been known to smoke a nice English blend, over a cup of tea, every now and again. Im obsessed with my Midori travelers notebook and well... stationary in general. I have way too many hobbies to list, but we will find those out over time, now won't we?!?!

I would love to hear from anybody! Really anyone! I'm so lonely...

I seem to want to write more letters and postcards than I have pen friends to send them to. So I would be glad to write to more fountain pen aficionados!

A quick sketch about me: male university professor (Ph.D. in Spanish, with concentration in Latin American literature and culture) in the United States, with diverse interests in the arts (especially painting, art film, and classical music) and humanities (especially languages, literatures, and cultures), married to an art teacher (also male). I can write in English and Spanish, and my French is somewhat rusty, but still comprehensible. I love both modern and vintage fountain pens, and I am passionate about great inks.

Send me a private message if you'd like to begin the adventure!

Hi

I am a young Christian girl and I think it would be really cool to receive mail from all over the world. I am still in school and found out my interest for fountain pens because of my dad who recently developed his interest for it.

It would be great to receive mail from younger fountain pen lovers.

Look forward to your comments and hope to write to someone soon.

Thanks

Natalie :)

Hello all,

I am almost one year into fountain pens. I got couple pen pals from INCOWRIMO. I did not know this page even existed until recently. Anyway about me, I was a United States Marine for 12 years. In that time several deployments and in those deployments I have developed a "unhealthy"(as some people put it) obsession for getting mail. I love getting mail, I dont even care if its bill if my mail box is empty I am sad. I have a part time job as a care giver and also am an electrical engineering student. While school isnt going on, I noticed my turn around time for letters is usually the next day, but with classes going on might take a little longer. I love comics, electronics, movies, PENS(that goes with out saying). I just got my first vintage fountain pen to restore. Sheaffer vac-filler. Figure I get one of the harder ones to try only since I love a challenge. Also trying to improve my penmanship Several people have told me wow its so much better but I know have long way to go to have "nice" writing.

Hello everybody,

Female, mid-40s, have man, dog and a few chooks. Oh, and some tropical fish. Originally from Wales, now living in Highlands of Scotland (via Bedfordshire). Living a pretty unexciting life but that's ok by me these days. Recently taken up running (slowly). A bit geeky. Fond of brackets :)

Like so many others, looking to basically learn how to write again as haven't really had to since college in the 90s! Technology is great, but it has a lot to answer for...

Said man has absolutely no interest in nibs, inks etc, hence I find myself here. Also it would probably be a bit daft to write letters to him when we share a house ;)

No religion, politics or children please. Can't promise torrid tales or scintillating stories, but will try not to induce narcolepsy.
