Hello FPNers

I am 67 and recently moved from NY to Tenn. Have been interested in FPs for several years. Retired from the health care field, as well as my work in ministry and chaplaincy. My interests: Apart from collecting and learning more about FPs; machine knitting; writing; crochet; loom weaving; soapmaking and Biblical studies My current favorite daily pens are my Bexley BX802 Cappuccino, Tourneau MMXV, Monteverde Prima & Napa with 1.1 stub nib and my favorite "inexpensive" pen for note taking for class is the Jinhao 599 medium nib (which I have tweaked). Would be interested in a pen pal with some similar interests from around the world.

Hello FPNers -

Looking to add a some additional pen pals from around the globe - no restrictions… I am located in South Carolina, USA

About me: mid to late 40's, wife, mom, engineer, reader, and gardener. I like all kinds of nibs, pens, paper, inks… I seem to go through "spells" and every pen I purchase will have EF and F nibs… then I'll go O3B… have to admit left oblique does seem to be my favorite for long note taking / journaling… at present I have been experimenting with vintage pens - long and skinny...

Send me a PM if you'd like to exchange snail mail...

Hello, everyone. I'm brand new to the FPN and have just recently started using fountain pens exclusively. I am in love with my Pilot VP F nib, but I have several others as well. Just placed a big order with the Goulets in search of FP friendly paper. I thought having a pen pal or two would let me share my interest with others as well as see what other people are using. Also, after 10+ years in college (long story), my handwriting has completely deteriorated, and I need to practice in order to whip it into shape.

So, I'm a soon-to-be 38-year-old single lady with one dog and no children, and I kind of like it that way for now and maybe forever. Who knows? I love to read, mainly fiction of all kinds, but I'll pretty much read anything including food packaging. :lticaptd: I also love music and especially music from the 1940s. My radio pretty much never leaves SiriusXM 40s on 4. I do write fiction and have one book published, but I also love writing in my journal and sending letters to friends and family. I crochet, knit a little, and just received my first Erin Condren Life Planner, which will probably be as close as I'll ever get to scrapbooking. I have to plan on paper. I've tried just doing it on the computer/phone, but it just doesn't work for me. I'm a visual/tactile person, which is probably why I fell in love with fountain pens.

I guess I should note that I am a Christian but not in your face about it. However, cowboy church and God are a part of my life, so it probably will get mentioned once in a while.

I've rambled enough, so if you're interested, please PM me. Thanks!

Hello,

I am 26 and I live in Oporto (Portugal) the city which gave the name to the world-known Port wine.

I graduate in Law and I have a master in Company Law. I also think to do PhD. Now, I work as a lawyer.

Besides my work, I swimm, read and learn English and German.

In spite of my studies in Law I have other preferences such as history, politics, literature, music (rock/jazz/classical), gastronomy, films, sports, meet other cultures, travel or just have fun with a good sense of humor :). I am a very curious person.

I do confess I have a particular interest in German language and culture. Nevertheless, I also like to know more about British, Dutch and Scandinavian culture. Although, if you are from USA or Australia (so far away!!), I would like to meet you too :)

My interest in fountain pens began when I was at college and I bought a pelikan M215. I always love pens and the "art of writing". Voltaire said "to hold a pen is to be at war" and that was always on my mind. When I graduate, my parents gave me a MB 146 and after I start doing my collection. I have a particular interest in Teutonic pens such Mb, pelikan and lamy. Someday I will try others as the Japanese.

I carry fountain pens everyday and I can't forget them. It is a pleasure to sign an appeal with a beautiful BB nib, writing a letter or just take notes.

If you are interested, please send PM.

Regards,

J

I will give it a try :) I am half Italian, half Slovenian. I live in Koper and I am single. I am 31 years old and live in a small apartment with my two cats. I have a degree in Biology but work for a telecommunications company.

I am a dancer and take part in local competitions. I like to run and swim and spend time by the sea. I travel often because of my job (United Kingdom -Birmingham and London and USA - Washington and Denver).

I don't know much about fountain pens but I like to write. I have never had a pen pal before and I would like to give it a chance. Both gentlemen and ladies are welcome to write me :)

Hi

I have a number of penpals, from all around the world, and possibly looking to add a few more.

But this request is a little more specific, I would be interested in someone who wants to discuss politics/news/current affairs.

I have a couple already, where we discuss big news items, and our views on them, but also local news items, historical items, and the sorts of things most prefer not to talk about.

Your political slant/bias is of no concern, as I am interested in all sides of the story. Although I would not classify myself, in US terms I would be a liberal ( Pro choice, anti gun, pro gay marriage etc)

Just to give you an example, I just wrote a letter that talked, about Ebola, ISIS, and UK refusing to pay a bill from the EU

Obviously there is a little chit chat around each topic, and no topics are off limits.

I know this will not appeal to many, but if there is anyone, PM me....

Renfield

I wrote a bunch of letters and never received responses... So I'm back on the hunt for a few new penpals!

If my interests align with yours please send me a PM :)

Hello!

My name is Surei. I am a 28 year old NYC native geek. I have just gotten into the fountain pen hobby and I'm so excited to find reasons to play with my new fountain pens and inks! I'm looking for a pen pal around my age that is willing to forge a meaningful new friendship through correspondence :)

I consider myself a dabbler; a Renaissance woman, if you will. I have a myriad of hobbies that I would be happy to discuss in my letters.

These subjects can include:

  • Art -- I am an amateur artist, I'd be happy to doodle on your letter/envelope if you like that sort of thing.
  • Science -- My main interest is in biology (my undergraduate research was in molecular evolution), but I love all the sciences. I just wish Physics loved me :(
  • Education -- I work at a Title 1 public middle school in the Bronx. If you don't know, Title 1 basically means high poverty. I am VERY passionate about my kids (all 300 of them) and the problems facing the education system today.
  • Board games -- Wait! I'm not talkin' 'bout Monopoly. However I am CRAZY about strategy and european-style table top games.
  • Travel -- I love to travel. I don't get to do it often enough, but I would be happy to share memories (and photos) of my trips to Spain, Ethiopia, Japan and Peru.
  • Regency (Jane Austen time) / Period Dramas -- I own several film adaptations of Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion, Emma and Sense & Sensibility. I find the 19th and early 20th century a rather romantic time and enjoy learning more about that time period.
  • Computer/Video Games -- I am currently very heavily invested in the the MMO Guild Wars 2. I love me some World vs. World pixel violence, with catapults! :) I also own consoles, though I don't use them as much now as I used to.
  • Young Adult Fiction -- I know, I know. 28 isn't exactly young adult anymore (don't remind me!). I know I have an unrefined reading palate, but I read fiction for entertainment, not growth. I mostly read sci-fi, fantasy and dystopian fiction. Not really into vampires. Like zombies.
  • Computers/Technology -- I love my technology. As much as I love history and old things, I get twitchy when I don't have access to the internet. I am not *super* knowledgeable, but I *did* build my own gaming desktop.
  • And much, much more...! If you have a subject you would like to discuss, let me know in a PM. I will let you know if it interests me too :)

Topics I'm not interested in discussing:

  • Religion
  • Politics

If any of those topics interest you let me know by PM. I am looking for about 2-3 pen pals.

Thanks for reading!

I'll jump back in here. Any of my pen pals from years ago, if you even remember me and want to write again, that would be lovely, but if not, I understand. :-)

I'm trying to get back more into journaling, writing, and creativity, and I do enjoy time spent in letters with a person of a similar bent. I read most of the "paperazzi" (sic) blogs and enjoy discussing such things.

I enjoy sci fi (movies, tv, books) and fantasy. I also enjoy history and historical fiction.

I'll say this too: I find the intellectual aspects of BDSM most interesting and would love to exchange thoughts with others on that family of topics.

Don't really want to talk politics or religion. But if you don't like LGBT people, don't write to me please. :-)

Finally, I'm into cars and bikes, and would actually enjoy writing about either. I am an avid amateur competitor in autocross and "(bleep) can" road racing and enjoy track days on the bike.

Send me a message if you're interested, and thanks for taking the time to read this.

edited to catch one or two of the typos. and i have to laugh at the word that contains "rap" and has a c in front of it being deleted by the site filter.

Hi everyone,

I'm 20 (turning 21 this December). I study applied mathematics at university, although I find pure mathematics more interesting. I'm fairly busy with homework and helping run the math club at school, so you can probably expect about 1-2 messages from me a month. I love Doctor Who- I've watched all of the new stuff, and I've recently started the stuff from the 60s (just had Hartnell regenerate into Troughton a few weeks ago!). I'm not particularly interested in politics and religion. I usually use my fountain pens for assignments and school notes, but it'd be great to use them for correspondence as well. I'm pretty new to the world of fountain pens- my first one being a Safari that I purchased last May. I enjoy chess (but am very very bad at it), and I used to read novels, but I feel like nowadays I'm just reading math textbooks! :yikes: I do read the Naruto manga though (can you believe it's almost over?) I like alternative rock music, fountain pens (I have a special spot in my heart for Pelikans though), and blue inks (still looking for that perfect one). I read/write/speak English very fluently (was born in Ontario), but I've also always been interested in Canada's second language: French. I used to know a bit of it from taking French from Grade 4 up until Grade 12, but you know what happens when you stop speaking/writing/reading a language- you quickly forget it! If anyone would like to try to communicate in (very) elementary French, you can feel free to do that as well. I also like playing piano/keyboard, but I still haven't gotten the hang of playing with both hands at the same time.

...and that's pretty much it. If anybody is interested in some snail mail exchange, please feel free to PM me for an address.

So, now that I have fancy paper and new pens and inks I just HAVE to write more letters, and the ones to my kid are not cutting it. So. Little about me:

35 year old Brazilian living in DC since 2012. Huge nerd, working on a tech/media company. Interests range from bodybuilding, weight/power lifting to board games, tabletop RPGs, video games, linux and open source stuff, politics (not a big genius on this though), privacy, fantasy and sci fi books, photography and some sports (I will be glad if someone can make me actually like american football and baseball).

I can raise a kid up to 8 years old (after that I am doing it remotely so still seeing how that works), what means a LOT OF MINECRAFT.

If anyone wants to train their Portuguese, I am also up for that.

Hello everybody

My name is Roberto. I am originally from Spain but I have been living in the UK for quite a number of years. My first contact with the fountain pen world was when I was 7 , then I got a Nononsense Sheaffer FP and BP set as a present for my first communion. My parents did not allow me to use it very often until I got into University and then I used it very extensibly for years until it broke down. Now I have a very extensive FP collection and I am more than willing to put all these pens and inks to good use. I consider myself a modest, unremarkable person form the outside (grey suit and black shoes sort of guy) , although I have a few unusual hobbies and tastes in music or literature. I enjoy classical music and jazz, Greco-Roman Philosophy, Ancient and modern History, neurosciences (that is my trade), numismatics (mainly spanish empire coins) , space exploration history (huge Apollo nerd) and classic, hard science fiction from the Golden Age. I must confess that I am not interested in comics, computer games ( I grew out of them after my 30th birthday) , sports , everyday politics and religion, although I enjoy discussing ideas that might be under the umbrella of political science or philosophy.

I have a very demanding job but I enjoy communicating with like minded people from all around the world. If you are interested please send me a personal message or email so we can exchange addresses.

Thank you for reading!

Hello,

prighello. Live in California. Have a few pens. Just got into the hobby. Although I am a millennial, I had a fp as a kid but then switched over to pencils for school work. I recently picked up a cheap fn randomly a few months ago to journal and decided I really like them. Since then I've bought a Sailor 1911, M200, and Reform 1745. Anyway, would love to exchange letters with someone here in the US to practice my cursive which I am trying to re-learn. I really like wine, video games, audio (I have several 2 channel systems), painting, weight lifting, cycling, board games, history, psychology, economics, reading (Sci-Fi, health, fantasy) and performance cars. PM me if you are interested in exchanging letters.

I am interested in correspondents from other countries, especially Norway.

I still have time for two or three more pen pals. If anyone is interested, PM me.

I am twenty-seven years old, I work full time, and I attend law school at night. I am interested in finding a new pen pal that is either also a law student, or a practicing lawyer in the U.S....if there are any out there.
