Reading these posts, I realized that I posted, but didn't tell anyone anything about my interests.

 

My interests are vast and varied. Music, photography, fountain pens, the art, antiques, travel, history, renaissance faires (yeah, I said it), friends, family and the great outdoors to name one or two things. All rather weird soounding as the tests we used to have to take in high school made me out as a good candidate for Math and Science jobs and I was actually offered an Engineering scholarship to attend college...which I didn't take. I'm a certified Geek, I guess.

 

I would love to have a few people to corresponde with as it's literally been years since I wrote an actual letter and posted. What a sad statement! (Greeting cards don't count!!)

 

Anyone interested, I'm taking names...(we might kick a** later) *grin*

Yes! I think it's pretty nice to write an actual letter too actually - especially since all recipients are pretty fascinated with writing techniques and such too so it's quite nice to get some feedback too. I'm experimenting a bit with different materials and such when doing this too. My last letter contained has some parts written with real 24k gold on the paper

Hi everyone.. I never done the Penpal thing.. I will like to give it a shot mostly because it will help me practice penmanship and lord knows I need it!

I like to read mostly crime and fiction.. I love the Prey series by John Sandford his was the first book I read on my own, found it on the bus while heading to summer work when I was in high school and got hooked..

I love computers and taking them apart!, music likes are Techno and opera/metal? (Nightwish <--- Band )

 

I promise to write back, but I can't promise it will be pretty!! at least not yet...

 

Love shaving stuff (Badger&Blade forum member) and have a small collection that grew too fast!! now I shave like my grandpa and enjoy it everytime!..

I'm a (nearly) 37 y/o married mother of two girls. Born and raised in West Virginia, currently residing in South Georgia. I am also a dual-national, but I'll keep the details for a letter if anyone's interested

In no particular order - and among other interests - I love traveling, history, reading, music and Land Rovers.

 

I love my fountain pens and good paper, but I find myself using the pens mostly for quick notes at work and kakuro.

I'm 15 years old and live in Finland. I have never had a pen pal or anything similar, but would love to have one, maybe not more than one though. i'm a bit of a beginner with fountain pens, I only have three pens. I love paper and I really like fountain pens. my other interests include origami, art, science fiction and fantasy, strategy games,calligraphy, and making random stuff such as quills. I think writing to someone much over 20 years old would be a little weird, so that's really my only restriction. expect to get nice looking letters from me.

Wow, I am pretty excited to see this thread is alive and kicking. I am new to FPN and FPs in general, but more importantly, while I throughly enjoy writing letters, my penmanship is not so great.

 

I currently live in the midwestern part of the US, work in adult mental health, AND teach film studies on the university level.

 

 

My interests include, wet-shaving, travel, ethnic eats, spirits, cocktails and craft beer. I have been an active member of the greyhound rescue movement for over 15 years and love the breed. My interests are diverse, yet my curiosity is almost bottomless.

 

The things I enjoy writing about most are film, travel, and books.

 

I welcome people who share, want to learn or exchange ideas about my interests, or want to share theirs. After all, variety is the spice of life. I have had pen pals as close as my own state, to as far as Japan and South Korea. I welcome and cordially invite any and all interested members to reach out.

I love music, am a musician and a singer myself. I love online games. I am a new nail technician and artist, slowly improving my skills. I recently (well, not really, it's been boiling somewhere deep in my heart for the past 4 or so years) have started being super interested by FP's and am slowly getting addicted. Who am I kidding? The past 3 days have been full of watching videos about FP's, reading about them, and looking them up on every possible website. Almost tempted to spend all my money on a collection this very moment ^^"..

 

 

Don't have an FP yet, gonna have it in a month or so, and once I do I'll only write with it :3 until then, if you wanna become penpals, I'll use my pink 0.4 ballpoint

I am soon to be 18 (August 11 ) teenager who has big dreams. I am a very lazy person tbh, so I might take a while to answer (snail mail? I'm the snail), but I will eventually

 

 

Also, I enjoy science, and I love learning. I enjoy some intelligent conversations, as well as just casual chat. I'm also a sucker for books. Don't own many, but if I could my whole room would be filled wall to wall, floor to ceiling, and in any tiny hole.

 

 

I'm pretty sure this'll be important to many of you - I am an Atheist and anti theist. I do my best to be a reasonable and rightful person. I am friendly towards religious people, but not towards their religion. I respect you, but not your beliefs. if you've got a problem with that, I'd rather you don't PM me, as I wouldn't like to disappoint.

 

 

Another thing I enjoy is TV. I don't watch much of it, but when I do I try to either watch good stuff or really funny stuff. My top fave shows are House, Dexter (although the ending was terrible!), Criminal Minds, Orange is the New Black. Movie wise, I love many of Leonardo DiCaprio's movies, although I am not interested as much in the actor himself. I also watch other movies, those are just things I could think of on top of my head.

Just finished writing my letter. Did you know he received over 220,000 letters, gifts, cards, and so on? The whole family is helping in opening all the mail, but it just keeps coming in! I hope the boy lives to open every last piece of mail.

My name is Surei. I am a 28 year old NYC native geek. I have just gotten into the fountain pen hobby and I'm so excited to find reasons to play with my new fountain pens and inks! I'm looking for a pen pal around my age that is willing to forge a meaningful new friendship through correspondence

 

I consider myself a dabbler; a Renaissance woman, if you will. I have a myriad of hobbies that I would be happy to discuss in my letters.

These subjects can include:

• Art -- I am an amateur artist, I'd be happy to doodle on your letter/envelope if you like that sort of thing.
• Science -- My main interest is in biology (my undergraduate research was in molecular evolution), but I love all the sciences. I just wish Physics loved me
• Education -- I work at a Title 1 public middle school in the Bronx. If you don't know, Title 1 basically means high poverty. I am VERY passionate about my kids (all 300 of them) and the problems facing the education system today.
• Board games -- Wait! I'm not talkin' 'bout Monopoly. However I am CRAZY about strategy and european-style table top games.
• Travel -- I love to travel. I don't get to do it often enough, but I would be happy to share memories (and photos) of my trips to Spain, Ethiopia, Japan and Peru.
• Regency (Jane Austen time) / Period Dramas -- I own several film adaptations of Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion, Emma and Sense & Sensibility. I find the 19th and early 20th century a rather romantic time and enjoy learning more about that time period.
• Computer/Video Games -- I am currently very heavily invested in the the MMO Guild Wars 2. I love me some World vs. World pixel violence, with catapults! I also own consoles, though I don't use them as much now as I used to.
• Young Adult Fiction -- I know, I know. 28 isn't exactly young adult anymore (don't remind me!). I know I have an unrefined reading palate, but I read fiction for entertainment, not growth. I mostly read sci-fi, fantasy and dystopian fiction. Not really into vampires. Like zombies.
• Computers/Technology -- I love my technology. As much as I love history and old things, I get twitchy when I don't have access to the internet. I am not *super* knowledgeable, but I *did* build my own gaming desktop.
