Snail Mail Writing List

Howdy dowdy!

My name is Jessica. I am 22 and I work in a nuclear power plant. If you'd ask me when I was in high school where I was going to end up in four years, that definitely would not have been any of my answers.

My job has basically defined my adult life thus far, so I'd like to talk to people about... well, anything else! It's only recently that I've had the time to do anything else but work. Well, I guess you could still ask about it, but let me tell ya...

Anyway, I like to draw and paint (art school is something I am contemplating in a few years), read, write, cook, drink tea, play videogames, listen to music (looots of indie), and I'm always up for learning about new things -- anything.

Making up stories and characters and worldbuilding in general (conceptualizing?) is one of my favorite things to daydream about. Wouldn't mind having another creative sort to jam out with and bounce ideas -- that's the only thing I've been missing lately.

I like to nerd out, hearing stories about other places, and travel, among other things... PM me and we can work it out! C:

I'll need to go back through this thread and pick out a few of you, perhaps? Ahem. Anyway...

Hi, my name is Leigh.

I've always loved pens, stationary, notebooks, etc. My family often teased me about it growing up, but my father loved calligraphy, so... Fountain pens are new to me. As a kid/teenager, I'd always end up gifted those super-cheap "calligraphy" sets and they were vexing, never worked right, etc., so I thought FPs were a PITA. Little did I know... those sets were just garbage. I've only got a few pens now and the nicest is my Pilot Metro... so, yeah. Nothing fancy here.

I'm an aspiring author and about to start school with Full Sail towards a BFA in their 'Creative Writing for Entertainment' program. My dream is to write in the gaming industry as I'm an avid gamer and have been for most of my life. I'm 28. Married (for 5 years). We have 4 cats, 2 dogs, and a vegetable garden every summer which we struggle to keep our chickens out of when we let them out of their coop/run. ;)

Beyond writing, I love reading (duh)... especially Scifi/Fantasy, though I've been known to enjoy other styles of fiction and even some non-fiction as well. I really enjoy music and I hope to afford a good electronic drum set someday so I can brush up on what little skills I have. My husband and I are big supporters of our local music scene. The only genres I'm really not a fan of are pop country and crunk rap. I can find enjoyment in aspects of almost any other.

I can be a very crafty sort of person- I like to knit, crochet, "art" journal, etc... I also enjoy baking, though it's much more a Fall/Winter activity. :)

Count me in, this looks like fun!

Let's see, my hobbies are too many to list but the main ones are in my profile, art is my primary one, and new ones await for time to discover them lol. Im In my 30s, married, with 2 sons. We farm in the Midwest and also have horses, dogs, cats, a hedgehog and a lizard as well,- animal lover here so it's like EIEIO lol ;). I welcome pen pals from anywhere, have several international pen pals for years now so postage doesnt bother me, and love to talk about whatever and learn new things. Writing is a lost art I feel so it'd be wonderful to keep it alive with others who feel that way too. PM me if you'd like to correspond :)

I would like to try this. I am 77 years old and have been using "real pens" for at least 50 years, mainly for my journal writing. Between 4,000,000 and 5,000,000 words! Wonder how many bottle of ink that would be?

I live in the Southern part of the U. S. Married to my second wife, ---- first one no longer living. I have been highly blessed to have been married to two good women!

Travel is of interest to me.

I'm interested in starting up some Ghost Letters correspondence. That's where you adopt the persona of a historical character. Gives you something you can research for inspiration to keep writing. We can regale each other with our adventures. I'm still deciding on a character..

Howdy,

It has been two years this month since I last picked up a fountain pen and put it to paper; slightly longer since I last exchanged letters. The desire to reawaken my writing muscles has hit me quite hard, and I am hoping to find some interested parties to exchange words.

I am 33, work in business intelligence, received my BA in History, and have been married for five years to my lovely wife. We live in north Texas with our three dogs and two rats. We enjoy museums, walking our dogs, working in the yard, and shooting occasionally.

I, myself, frequently play disc golf, video games, and greatly enjoy gritty neo-noir film and television series. I recently finished "True Detectives". I also enjoy dialogue driven film that is quick and witty; everything from an "Oceans 11" to a "Newsroom". There is even a set of films that I watch again and again, deriving great pleasure from viewing, yet I cannot for the life of me describe to anyone why. A good example is "No Country for Old Men" or "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada" (Tommy Lee Jones being in both is a coincidence). Anywho...I enjoy movies.

I also enjoy reading, but I do not practice this as much as I should. My personal favorites are well done epics; Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series and the "Game of Thrones" saga by George R. R. Martin are the most notable. I have tried starting the Malazan books by Erik Stevenson but his particular writing style is giving me grief. I switched over to "Bad Omens" by Neil Gaiman and am laughing my (bleep) off!

All-in-all I'm a multi-disciplined nerd looking for any conversation from light chit chat about pets to the more serious or taboo (I play a great "Devil's advocate"). No subject is off limits. Please message me if interested!

Hello All,

I'm interested in having one more penpal. I am 49, my husband and I have been married for 27 years. I'm trained as a sign language interpreter, but I'm working at a Mutual Fund company right now. I'm an avid reader, a vegetarian, and now, a minimalist. I am only 5 months old in fountain pen years. I wouldn't mind international correspondence.

Let me give this a shot.

My name is Darryl, happily married male with a 3 year old son who is my all in this world. 32 Years of age this year (October). Started the fountain pen game a few weeks ago after watching numerous videos on YouTube. Trying to get anything besides Parker Vector's or Waterman's here is an absolute nightmare. Had to truly scrounge the net.

Anyway, my interests are theology, as you can see by my avatar ;) Sci-Fi/Horror books, used to be movies, but don't watch a lot of TV due to me starting seminary this year. Tend to stay on YouTube and get my entertainment there.

I would be interested in hearing from people all over the globe who would like to just talk about life in their countries, or what passes the hours during the day.

Hope to hear from some of you.

I am looking to add a couple of new pen pals from around the US and the world.

I am 67, retired and happily married. We live in SW Ohio next to a beautiful lake in a rural farming area.

My hobbies include reading, writing, travel and meeting new people. Fountain pens have been a part of my daily life for over 50 years now. I have a modest collection of mostly vintage pens that I use regularly.

Please let me know if you would like a new pen pal.

Thanks

I'm open for letter's too and I will try to reply to any letters received. Haven't got much stock on special stationary but I'll try my best to deliver an interesting read on both content and material :)

About me: I'm the average informatics guy, building websites and stuff for big companies being employed in a full service web agency. Aside from that my most prominent other hobby is archery, so in me free time I'm most of the time shooting or doing calligraphy. I've also got a pretty decent photography gear and I'm able to retouch photos a little as well as a basic instinct on how to shoot a picture to begin with, without it needing to be retouched completely later on or being a snapshot altogether - but that is rarely used as it just takes a lot of time to hunt down/find good photography targets.

My Pens/Nibs (inked/active): Lamy Studio/Vista/Joy (XXF slight-flex custom | 14k EF | EF | F | 14k M | M | B | 14k 1.1 custom | 1.1 | 1.5 | 1.9), TWSBI Diamond 580 (F | Pendleton BadBoy | Zebra G | F.P.R. semi-flex), Pilot Falcon EF, Penkala Vintage 14k semi-flex, Pilot Parallel (2.4 | 3.8 | 6.0)

http://www.fp-ink.info/img/button.pngI'm still looking for help/data/supporters/sponsors for my Ink Database - It already contains over 900 Inks but is still low on data about the inks except on the Inks I got myself or where I found nice data sheets. So Im looking for these: InkSamples mailed to me, Permissions to use InkReviews - preferable by people who have a lot of InkReviews online, InkReviews mailed to me so I can scan them, Sponsors that will help me to finance InkSamples, People willing to trade InkSamples (list of available Inks from me is available via PM request - please include available Inks)

Bio:

I am a 26 year old with a BA in Architecture. Grew up in Chicago but moved to Texas a few years back. At the moment I am interested in books, pens, architecture, anthropology and music. I plan on getting a Masters in Engineering and Anthropology because I am very interested in structures and culture as well as how the two are interrelated throughout history. As long as there is a passion behind the words, I enjoy listening/reading a variety of subjects. My fountain pen usage tends to lean towards everyday use in sketching or drawing as well as note taking. Therefore I am interested in exchanging snail mail with a pen pal to help progress my handwriting outside of 'all caps'. PM me if you are interested.

Hi folks

I'm Stephen, early forties, UK resident. Live with my partner and two cats and work in the NHS. Vegetarian, cyclist and Green Party member, which probably make me sound kinda militant - I'm not honest. Well maybe a tiny bit !

Love music from Country to pop to rock to soul to hip-hop to techno to folk etc. Love films (Favourites - A Matter of Life & Death, North by Northwest) and boxset TV (most recently Penny Dreadful).

Took up journaling after an accident to help with my memory, and thus into the world of fountain pens. Would love to exchange letters with people around the world.
