Hi there!

My name is Doug, I'm a 62 yr. old ( Oh my goodness, how did THAT happen?) male living near Binghamton, New York (that's upstate where it's very green :) ).

I'd love to correspond with anyone, anywhere, no matter the topic.

I have too many interests to list, but photography, vintage furniture, history, old movies, and reading seem to be the things I spend most of my time with. I also enjoy singing in church, and am the only tenor we have there.

I'm married, have a daughter, a grand daughter, and a dog and cat.

I spent 20 years living in Germany, and am able to correspond in German as well as English.

That should do for starters. Send me a pm if interested, I'll get right back to you!

Hi ..thought I'd give this a try. I don't post on FPN much but read a lot since I'm new to fountain pens.. I started collecting last Christmas and have a modest collection of 5 pens (pelikan m400, lamy star, namiki falcon, sailor reglus and twsbi mini) and a handful of inks. I just started taking calligraphy classes and am absolutely loving this new hobby.

I'm 30 and live in Toronto with my husband and 2 year old. I'd love to practice my penmanship...try some calligraphy and meet new friends.

Right now my#1 hobby is obviously fountain pens but i also love 80s music and technology. I'm a huge gadget geek and love mixing digital and analog tools :) my twitter feed gives you a little more insight twitter.com/mishiechau

If you write , I promise to write back. I love surprises so I'm just going to leave my work address here. Do write me if you feel like talking to a thoughtful, fun and geeky gal .

Oh and my day job has me working in the busiest urban public library in North America..I feel like I've done this all my life and if you ask...I have the most random, entertaining stories of all sorts of people I meet working at a public library .

Hello! My name is Lyra. I'm 33 and a mother to a wonderful six year old boy. I live and work in Manila, Philippines.

I adore writing letters (of course!), sewing, drawing, journal writing and collecting: ink, stationery, art materials, fabric, Dr Martens boots etc. I went to school to be an Interior Designer, then I had a quarter-life crisis and took Fashion Design also. I'm now a Visual Merchandiser for a retail chain. Funny how that worked out.

Please feel free to PM me if you would like to exchange letters. I'm not particular about age or location, it's all so interesting to me!

Have a great day!

Hello,

I am a 28 year old Cuban-born American living in Florida. I am an attorney in the state of Florida (though contrary to popular belief, I don't actually chase ambulances). My interests are history, politics, science, reading, fountain pens, and watches. I am also an avid baseball fan, though I do watch a little bit of basketball on the side.

I am interested in meeting different people from around the world, but I certainly wouldn't mind writing to others here in the states. If you've read this far without managing to fall asleep, and think it would be interesting to correspond with me, send me an IM.

Thanks!

I do have a major preference for people in the USA, but hey I won't discriminate based on geography. I just might not be so able to send you letters since I don't have many international stamps.

I do photography, but I do not consider my stuff to be "fine art."

I came up through photography side, not art. So I did not learn the traditional art stuff about composition, color, etc. Most of what I learned was from various short classes, magazines and books.

Everything I learned was through practice. I dont follow any specific rules. I shoot what I like how I like and people seem to like it :) My post is meant for all into photography. All skill levels.

Hi, my name is Adam Hopkins

I'm a college student in the US and I think it would be a lot of fun to learn more from other college students from across the country, or internationally, especially as a pen pal. All ages are definitely welcome, but it would be cool to talk to other college students. I'm interested in reading (usually sci-fi or fantasy), tabletop gaming (Not D&D, mostly Euro games), juggling, Ultimate Frisbee, golf... The list goes on. I recently spent a semester studying abroad, so if you want to hear some interesting stories about my adventures in Europe/France, I would be happy to talk about that :) I'm an engineering student, so I'd also be up for talking about that stuff too if you're interested. So send me a PM if you're interested!

Hello

I am a fairly new fountain user and would love to pen-pal. I am a trained sign language interpreter but currently work at a large mutual fund company (I know, YAWN!). I have 2 grown children, and enjoy reading, baking, journal writing, ASL, and of course fountain pens. I live in the US, but would enjoy international correspondence.

Hi!

I'd like to test this "snail-mail stuff"

I'm not really new to fountain pens (grew up in Germany, where you have to use one in school), but discovered writing as a hobby just recently. My handwriting is decent, but I'm trying to make the switch back to cursive (sometimes it looks nice, sometimes it looks like the stuff from a 8-year old...)

A bit info about me:

I'm 37 years old, but fortunately I'm still pretty far from being grown-up. Living in the Netherlands for 9 years and loving it here. When I'm not at work (zombie-being in the financial sector) I love to cycle with one of my odd bicycles (odd = recumbent or my Brompton). When traveling I love to take pictures, a hobby which I don't pursue as much as I'd like to... At home I like to sit in my man-cave :D while listening to music (hard rock/metal) and/or playing with one of my many game-consoles.

I'd like to exchange letters with 2-3 pen pals. Preferably someone from a bit further away, but if you live next door and want to send me something, that's fine too ;)

I have a fascination for Japan (planning to travel there in two years) and would love if somebody living there would write me a letter (in english, dutch or german, my Japanese and kanji reading skills are non-existent...)

Looking forward to your message,

cheers, Patrick

What a strange world we live in, where people communicate by text more than ever before, yet the art of proper handwriting is seen as a thing from the past.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Chris and I recently joined. I love sending and receiving letters, though I warn everyone that my penmanship is not stellar.

I spend my time between Florida and New England and New York. Some travel is for my work as a consultant, other times for pleasure. I love animals, cooking and growing my own herbs in the garden. I have an unhealthy fascination with conspiracy theories and I enjoy studying Cold War history. I also love radios, particularly very old radios. My degrees are in economics and finance but I have a secret and intense desire to be a(n) historian.

Blue is my favorite color, so don't be surprised if 75% of my letters are in blue. :-)

If anyone is up for a letter exchange, I would be happy to participate. Thanks!

Hi there, would love to pick up a few more pen pals.

I am 36, married with three children and work in special education which I love. By special I mean that I manage schools for excluded learners.

I love TV series' huge GAME OF THRONES fan and just started with Breaking Bad so no spoilers please.

In my spare time I enjoy making youtube videos about my pens and developing my new website.

If you are interested in exchanging letters please PM me . Thanks

Heyhey :)

I am 23 years old and from Scotland in the UK. I am new to the fountain pen network but I have enjoyed writing letters since I was little.

I would like a penpal who writes more than one letter! I don't mind where pen pals are from and I enjoy learning about people's lives from around the world. I enjoy to travel and hearing about people's cultures and experiences.

Aside from writing and receiving letters I enjoy cake decorating, cute stationary, dancing and hanging out with friends.

Looking forward to hearing from you :)

Currently living in New Zealand... but that may change at any moment! Newly returned to FPs after decades away - do I sound old?

Anyway, I have just one pen pal in Japan and I would love to have a few more. Finding pens, inks and nice paper is a nightmare in this country, not to mention the financing of this new hobby, but I will manage one way or another. Although I have always been something of a dilettante I do have some interests (outside of FPs) that occupy more of my time than most. Generally, when I am not attending to family and university, I am a long time exponent of taijiquan, a badminton player (although I am getting distinctly slower these days), and a lot of reading - mainly mid-20th century speculative fiction.

As can be noted from my signature - I do my best to follow the dharma. Last year I had the privilege of attending a non-public seminar given by the Dalai Lama, although my main spiritual influence is Thich Nhat Hanh.

That all said though I am happy to talk about pretty much anything and everything!

So, if anyone is interested in getting some letters with stamps depicting sheep or strange flightless birds... let me know via PM and I'll get writing. :)

thank you for reading this far,

I'm an English teacher in California with atrocious handwriting (sorry in advance!) and an addiction to learning things. Right now I'm learning Thai and how to find and care for the perfect pen for me. I tap dance decently and occasionally attempt other types of dance at which I do not excel (I love ballet, for example, but ballet does not love me). Usually I sing, but I'm taking a year or two off because of my crazy obligations at work. I love reading and devour equal parts educational theory, history/politics, literature (the snobby kind), and genre fiction (I lean heavily towards fantasy and sci-fi, but I also enjoy a good crime or detective novel). I try to make sure a good chunk of that reading is in Spanish so I don't lose my (shaky) command over that language as I learn Thai.

I like to travel, but it takes me a long time to save up because I like to stay in distant places for at least a month. My last trip was six weeks in Spain; up next is probably either Scotland or Australia.

I used to have a ton of pen pals but, sadly, the social media monster has gobbled most of them up.

My word choice is betraying me... "Devour"? "Gobbled"? It's well past time for breakfast. I hope to hear from some of you.

Mezzie

ETA: I'm 36, if that is important.
