Snail Mail Writing List

I'm a 24 year old male computer science major who works as a web developer. When I'm not spending my time in front of a computer, I love to spend my time reading non-fiction about history and spirituality. I've been using fountain pens for about 2 years now, and I'm diligent in maintaining good handwriting. Therefore, I spent a lot of time journaling and writing letters to people! I'm the type of person who takes things to the extreme when I find something that I'm passionate about. I enjoy poetry and music with lyrical depth, and I spend most my time thinking about questions of life, meaning and what I can contribute to those in my sphere of influence. Most of all, I thoroughly enjoy mindful and thought provoking discussions where personal experience is involved.

Aside from that, I try to stay active by playing basketball, hiking/backpacking and running. I try to plan at least one extensive backpacking trip a year out West.

Message me for inquiries and don't forget to tell me something about yourself! :)

This is wonderful! It's going to be hard carousing through 40+ pages of comments to find penpals to write to haha but I bet it'll be worth it! My little snippet:

I'm 22 years old and I'm from Indonesia. I moved to the US when I was the tender age of 8 and settled in little, old Southern Georgia. Currently, I'm residing in West Virginia and a first year medical student. I love to play tennis and recently have gotten into rock climbing. I love anything outdoors (the jungle child in me) and traveling. I went to Europe this past summer for a month and had the best time of my life. I have only started to use fountain pens in the last 3-4 months or so but I have always had a fascination with them. I'm a ponderer through and through. I enjoy talking about life and just the overall meaning of what life is and what it's supposed to be, death also comes into the picture every now and then.

Some of my interests: Any type of bluesy, jazzy, or rock-type music with a little bit of pop. I love craft beers and red wine. Love books. My current favorite author is Dan Brown and I'm also getting into the Dirk Pitt series by Clive Cussler.

Thank you for reading! :)

Hi everyone, what a great idea this is. I am a 35 year old guy from the Netherlands; I have a degree in English and used to teach English in highschool before I moved on to a different job in education. I am married, have a 2 year old daughter and a second child is on the way :) I have broad interests and would be happy to write about literature, politics, the perils and pitfalls of young parenthood, travel, tv series and culture in general and education. I am politically liberal and would be interested to find out what it means to be 'European' when corresponding with people on other continents. I would also love to write to anyone in Europe by the way :) send me a pm and hopefully we can start a proper old fashioned correspondence!

Hey everybody! My name is Josh. I'm 26, married and have 2 kids. I live in the US. As everyone has already said, I too love fountain pens. I also am a musician, I am an avid photographer and enjoy reading fiction. Some of the authors I am reading are Clive Cussler and James Rollins. I love to fly fish when I get the time which hasn't been much lately. I love to hear from other people about where they live and what their lives are like. There is bunch more but I'm drawing a blank right now. I am looking for snail mail pen pals from anywhere.

Hi! My name is Adam and I'm looking for an excuse to use my fountain pens more often, even though I've just recently become interested in them. As my profile shows, I'm a Catholic composer who lives in Maryland, USA. While my faith and my music are the two most important things to me, I'm willing to talk about anything, even with people who don't share the same views--especially if you're interested in genuine debate. I have an incredibly wide range of interests and am something of a Renaissance man; my latest interests have been fountain pens, bookbinding, and home brewing (beer, wine, mead, liqueurs, etc.). I've been reading a lot of Chesterton lately, and I want to start learning more about distributism. If any of that sounds interesting, please PM me. Thanks!

Edit: I should add that, while I've always especially wanted a pen pal from Europe, I'd love to write to anyone anywhere!

Hi, my name's Stephi. I'm 31 years old, married, from the Eastern part of Germany. I'm looking for Christians to correspond over Bible-related topics. A dear friend (who doesn't write letters) once told me that my spiritual language is English, therefore I sometimes find it hard to engage in meaningful spiritual conversations with my German brothers and sisters. I love, love, love the books and teachings of John Piper, Beth Moore, David Platt, Francis Chan, Kay Arthur and hope to learn more about other gifted Bible teachers and their work.

Hello! I'd love to be and have a penpal! I'm 30, female, married with no children (yet), and the caregiver for my mother. I've got a pretty busy household- my mother, her dog, and my husband's father live with my husband, our dog, and me. Clearly, I love fountain pens and writing instruments, but I also enjoy reading, crocheting, riding my motorcycle, watching movies and a few TV shows, and cooking. I consider myself pretty boring (and happily so!) and would enjoy getting to know others through their letters. Just please- forgive my mediocre spelling. There's no spell-check on paper (;

I've been a member of FPN for a few years but haven't been very active. I'm intrigued by the Letter Exchange.

I live in the KC Missouri area. I like Wagnerian opera, and jazz. I also like road trips and have driven (rode on) all of historic Route 66 in Missouri, and Kansas (12 or so miles).

Starting to be somewhat interest in bird watching (would say birding but that's not me) in my own yard. I'm participating in Operation Feeder Watch with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

It doesn't really matter to me where a writing pal lives, so long as we can write in English.

If age matters I'm a woman in her 40s.

I have 4 pals already, but would like to add a Canadian fountain pen pal to the mix

I would love to receive letters from others on the forum.

I'm a (now FORMER) Licensed Massage Therapist who lives in the Birmingham, Alabama area. My interest are varied and pretty wide. I have sometimes been called a "Jack-of-All-Trades", but I prefer the term "Renaissance Man". :)

My current interest is fountain pens (DUH!). But I'm also interested in martial arts/combatives, computers, mobile tech, cigar box guitars, anime, magic....and pretty much anything else that strikes my fancy.

That's it for now. If ya wanna know more, it'll cost you a postage stamp. ;)

Lost my old id on here. Reasonable since I haven't been on in some time (dated in years).

I miss my penpals. I lost all of my old correspondence and contact information in a flood this past Summer. But I must admit to my having become a 'lost contact' before the flood. "use it or lose it" right?

Interests? really...knitting, writing, fps and Ink!, self-sufficiency (everything from 'natural' (ha) building to making my own lotions and such), vaping, small business/entrepreneurialism, guns, cooking, educating, learning, People!

Getting off computer to return to knitting needles for a moment before jumping into shower.

Have a Tremendous Tuesday!

Hi again y'all, thought I'd do a new post for the new year. I have lots of pen friends, but I like to write a letter at least 6 days a week so I'm always open to acquiring more. I am now 39, I am a single woman with no children (and I prefer to stay that way). I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area (I pretty much never discuss politics, save with a few like-minded friends, but you can probably extraploate my beliefs from where I was raised), but I moved to south Louisiana in 2010 to be closer to my parents, who moved back here (my mother's family is from here) in 2004.

I'm a photographer, although "starving artist" is in danger of becoming literal and I'm looking for part-time work. I shoot film and I use a lot of vintage cameras. I usually include photos with my letters. Other interests include reading, cooking, needlework, bookbinding, antiquing, and driving all over the state to photograph abandoned buidlings and cemeteries. I'm not religious myself but am interested in local beliefs like Catholicism (both mainstream and the folk variety), Creole Voodoo, traiteur healing, and Conjure/Hoodoo/Rootwork. I make condition oils, candles, and bottle spells.

I'm not picky about correspondents, although my favorite kind is someone who has a lot of hobbies and interests and/or travels a lot and always has stories to tell. (And "travel" could just mean driving to the nearest city.) Anyway, drop me a PM if you're interested!

Hello everybody! My name is Patrick and I live in Florida (AKA Sunshine State without that much sunshine). It feels really weird being 14 in a forum filled with people ranging from their 20s-40s and up, but I do hope that I'll still be somewhat interesting to talk with. I've been learning Spencerian for about 7 or 8 months now (Examples of my work here: http://instagram.com/pens_inks_and_spencerian) and I love writing, but don't have any penpals (Except for Schin lol). I was born in the Philippines and lived there for 5 years, but moved to Florida and have been in my boring town ever since.

Aside from calligraphy, my hobbies include listening to music (All sorts, Classical, Classic Rock, Punk Rock, Pop, etc.), reading books (Trust me, there are too many books to list here), and writing stories (Haven't finished any of them yet, but hey, quality over quantity, right?) I'm also a supporter of the LGBT community, so if you want to talk about that, you can write to me.

Moving on from hobbies, I would absolutely love to visit the UK and Ireland sometime in my life, just because I A) Love their accents and B) It just seems cool. I also want to be a really good (not world-class or anything) violinist someday, and while I'm not sure what I want to do for college, something to do with science seems pretty interesting.

I'd love to write to people and learn about them, so PM me if you're interested :)

What is the point of having a fountain pen if you don't intend to use it. I hate things that are practical and sit on shelves. Henceforward, I vow that I will not allow one speck of dust to inhabit the surface of my pens or inkwells. lol

Writing letters is fun and you can learn all sorts of things from others around the world. On top of that you can sport your best penmanship, favorite ink, or even do experiments, whilst commenting on them while writing the letter. Too much fun...

If anyone would be interested in snail-mailing I'd be happy to oblige. Just send me your address and I'll respond with mine. Anyone from around the world is welcome to write to me as long as you can write and comprehend English ^_^ Although I might make an exception for Germans. I love that language and am half German myself. I'm from a LARGE German family, so who knows... I might end up getting a letter from a cousin many times removed.

Anyhoo... enough rambling...

Let's set pen to paper and start some creative correspondence!

Please add me in as well, haven't written letters for a hell of a long time. And since I have or bought some lovely letter writing paper eg Rhodia and some other French brand and some lovely fountain pens too why not put them too use. I know that emailing has somewhat killed letter writing but to be there is no feelings in emailing and when it comes to writing nothing beats writing with a beautiful fountain pen :-) I live in Perth, Western Australia.

Hello all! I'd love to have a penpal or two.

I live in North Florida with my lovely wife and our beautiful two year old daughter.

My hobbies/interests include home brewing beer, playing the bagpipes, boating, watching movies, traveling (especially to Norway) and other things that are not coming to mind right now.

Politically I'm left-leaning, but like my guns.

Religiously/philosophically speaking I don't believe in the supernatural.

I will talk to anyone about most anything. I'm especially interested in corresponding with someone from Ireland or Scotland.

Just get out your pen, put the nib to the paper and start writing. Even if you just start with your name, more will come, and you will be all the better for it.
