So many things have happened since last October, it's not like I feel old after 18 years living on Earth or anything, but man, I have changed since then

I am still not happy with my handwriting, it keeps improving little by little -and by little, that's close to nothing; but it's better than nothing.

So here it goes again: Ata's life and quest for penpals, second year!

 

Wow, I ca not believe this: a small book of postcards, lots of letters and even a chatroom for meeting people, besides real life events like finally moving on all those bad things from the past and being happier. Am I dreaming or not? I've been lately writing more than ever, and even dared to start a book -this might be a bit too big for me, but hey, it's a nice beginning.

Right now, I would like to have another penpal, since I received a "Dear John" letter, and sometimes, not even that.

So, what am I looking for?

• Someone who has similar hobbies: papercraft, cosplay, video games, writing, reading (no Twilight plz), mixing inks, sewing random stuff, ...
• Under 30? I would like to find people around my age, but I don't mind having older penpals.
• No limit of gender/location: the first one is ridiculous, but mind the delay between Spain and whatever country you are from. If you're from Europe, letters will come home faster than their american counterparts.
• The more hobbies/topics, the better! And yes, writing about ants is considered a topic too

I am 40-year-old male, living in Ottawa, Canada. I have been happily partnered for ten years now.

 

My main interests are bicycling, photography, pens, collecting Zippo lighters, playing disc golf, hiking, camping and canoeing. I also enjoy collecting vintage fedora hats and suits. I have dabbled in swing dancing, but don't have a lot of time for that right now.

 

My musical interests are varied and range from jazz to blues to classic rock to indie genres.

 

I have spent many years in the army reserves.

 

When I was a kid, I had lots of international pen pals, which was an invaluable experience for me. I really miss writing letters to people. I also wrote a lot of calligraphy and used fountain pens.

 

While I don't foresee me getting into calligraphy again, I have since begun collecting fountain pens again. I will likely stick with modern pens.

 

I'm interested in writing to almost anyone, preferably with similar interests and in North America, but am open to European friends. Age and gender are not important.

Hi everyone!

 

I'm looking for a penpal (surprise)! There were a few attempts to contact others drafted, but messaging isn't working well for me for some reason.

 

I'm a 20 year old student currently working with a religious organization to work on community building and improvement in the Pacific Northwest, USA. I play airsoft, read in abundance, and enjoy writing a little and poorly. I'm on the way to being married, with a little luck. She and I are both just getting into fountain pens, and both have a Monteverde Invincia, a much better pen now than it appears it once was.

 

I enjoy learning; if you teach me what you know, I'll share what little I know. Age makes no difference to me, nor does grammar or spelling as long as you're truly doing your best. I value excellence, but everyone starts somewhere and I'm no expert at much of anything.

 

Oh, and I've been a Type I Diabetic for eleven years.

I have just joined this forum but I have been using FPs for quite some time (as someone else said, I am old enough to remember the time we learned how to use fountain pens at primary school).

 

I live in Melbourne, Australia... I am married with two children. So far my pen collection is not large - it is functional. However, I have a lot of ink and a lot of paper and stationery...

 

My work day gets rather busy - I am sure writing a few nice letters (and receiving a few as well) will provide a nice relaxation at the end of the day.

 

My interests include music, science fiction (my family loves Star Trek!), fine writing instruments, finer things in life.... and anything else - the topic does not matter - I am sure I will find a way to respond!

I am a 26 year old with a BA in Architecture. Grew up in Chicago but moved to Texas a few years back. At the moment I am interested in books, pens, architecture, anthropology and music. I plan on getting a Masters in Engineering and Anthropology because I am very interested in structures and culture as well as how the two are interrelated throughout history. As long as there is a passion behind the words, I enjoy listening/reading a variety of subjects. My fountain pen usage tends to lean towards everyday use in sketching or drawing as well as note taking. I'm Karen, a 37 year old wife and mum to 2 boys a dog and a cat. When I'm not working or looking after my family I love crafting (quilting, crochet, digital scrapbooking, needle felting) reading and listening to audio books (predominantly fantasy but I'm happy to read from any genre if the specific book appeals to me or is recommended). I love to go to the cinema but sadly don't get to go as often as I'd like.

Hi guys!

 

My name is Kelly, and I had my first pen-pal in Germany (I think) when I was a 6th grader -- but unfortunately that ended pretty soon, after exchanging few emails. So I'm here, after all those years, 14 years to be exact, at FPN, looking for some snail mail pen-pals.

 

I'm 26, originally from Seoul, South Korea but moved to United States little more than 6 years ago. I'm a trilingual; I had tried to be a quadrilingual but failed multiple times. I'm an enrolled agent, which means I am a tax professional who can represent any taxpayer before the IRS. As you can see, my major was accounting (and minor was marketing) in college.

 

I am an avid fan of South Carolina Gamecocks and Atlanta Braves. I follow them every single day and get frustrated a lot lately ;-( But I'm keeping my faith in my teams.

 

I like drawing/sketching stuffs, as you can see a red panda in my avatar. I basically go to my notepad/sketchbook when I'm bored at work :-) With my notepad on the desk, fountain pen on my hand and right arm covering the notepad, they'll never know! :-)

 

I'll more than happy to exchange mails with you in any of the languages that I speak; English, Korean and Japanese. I'm still trying to learn Spanish but I guess my chance is long gone.

A little background: I am 53, happily married, five adult children, retired from law enforcement (23 years) and live in the southwestern part of New York State. I started with fountain pens at the end of May this year, my first was a Pilot Metropolitan. I have twenty fountain pens now, nothing expensive, but I am trying to save for a quality fp. Hobbies include fantasy football, NASCAR, walking for exercise, camping, reading and short trips with my wife. I also like making bread in my bread machine, but have put a halt to it for the time being. I have been on the Dukan diet which does not allow bread. I have quite a bit of spare time being retired, as long as I can afford the postage and stationary I will happily participate.
