Hi,

I was looking for a place to hook up with penpals. It seems that I have found the right place.

A little about myself, I am a Singaporean lady in my late twenties, working as a video editor.

Currently I enjoy learning the guitar and ukulele.

I listen to japanese, english and chinese pop and rock music.

I enjoy watching US drama series, anime and movies.

I like reading fantasy and sci-fi novels, graphic novels and manga.

I also play PS3 games like uncharted.

Do forgive my handwriting because I am a lefty.

Hello, I'm Stephanie, and I'm looking for a couple of people to exchange letters with.

I'm in my late twenties, and I'm a graduate student of Social Work - training to become a therapist. I enjoy reading - mostly classics and literary fiction, but I do delve into fantasy/sci-fi from time to time. Currently, I'm slowly working my way through the winners of the Women's Prize for Fiction. I also like to knit, to play videogames and boardgames, and to hike. I don't have television service, but I do watch an obscene amount of netflix during university breaks while knitting.

I have good human friends, but my dog is my bestie so she may make frequent appearances in my letters. I love colors, so chances are yours will be written in my latest ink sample. Ink and paper are much like coffee for me (I am a home roaster); I have favorites, but I constantly try new things. Sometimes I even attempt to make my own. I'm currently taking an online calligraphy course, so who knows what practice might sneak its way onto your envelope.

PM me if you're interested in corresponding.

Hi everyone! My name's Jordan and I'm a geek. I'm in my upper-20's, but I still like to do some things like letter writing the old fashioned way if appropriate for my audience. I've noticed that older people especially love getting letters from me.

I've been lurking here for a while, and I've been using fountain pens for about seven months now. I'm an IT guy, and I recently got certified as an EMT. My hobbies are numerous, and include playing with technology, shooting guns, photography, videography, ham radio, shaving with a safety razor, and dating my girlfriend (which consumes the majority of my downtime for some reason). I don't write very often, though I'd really like to get back into the habbit of it. Oh, and I'm active duty military. I was born and raised in Indiana and will probably return after I complete my term of service.

I look forward to your letters.

Thought I would put my name down and see if anyone wanted to exchange letters. I would write a little bio here, but Im afraid if I write anything, there won't be any material for the letters! haha

I'm willing to write with anyone inside or outside the US, just let me know. I am currently in the States; Delaware!

Hi everyone. I love this idea. I love writing letters and receiving them. I prefer the mailbox to the inbox!

I am 46, married with one 11 year-old son, and I live in New York. I am a freelance writer, photographer and editor. I am also the board of Citta, an organization that builds hospitals, women's centers and schools in some of the most impoverished regions of the world, specifically India and Nepal.

In my free time, I am a voracious reader and bibliophile. Some of my favorite authors are D.M. Thomas, Haruki Murakami, Tolstoy, Mikhail Bulgakov, Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton, Richard Brautigan, Herta Muller, and John Fowles. I could list another 100.

I knit and also spin fiber into yarn. I make mohair teddy bears and I also enjoy cooking and foreign films. I have had a long-standing interest in Jungian psychology, Buddhism and Eastern philosophy in general. I love travel, especially international. In 1998 I went on my own to Nepal, Tibet and Thailand and that was one of the best experiences of my life.

I have a newfound interest in fountain pens that was sparked by a bag of pens I procured at a local consignment shop for $8. In it were a now working Parker 51, parts of a Parker Vacumatic, a very pretty third tier pen of unknown provenance, an Osmiroid calligraphic pen, and a Sheaffer pen from a desk set. After I brought my bag home, I dug out my Waterman Phileas, a Levenger pen that was my first fountain pen as an adult, and a Sheaffer Laque Blue Ronce Targa Slimline that had been languishing in my desk. I cleaned all and filled them with Pelikan 4001 Violet so I'm ready to write! I just bought a Bookworm on ebay after reading a favorable review on here and I have a vintage Art Deco style pen coming in the mail.

What else? I adore the Sunday NY Times, the Book Review and the crossword being my favorites. I am a red belt in Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan. I dabble in yoga but I love cycling and swimming and hiking, too. I love summers on the Vineyard but I also enjoy the mountains! I love browsing antique and consignment shops as well as thrift stores for unique finds. I've opened an Etsy shop (Provoquer la Curiosité) and I sell my wares on there. My rule of thumb is to buy only what I really love in case I'm stuck with it. I have a passion for antique bisque dolls with leather or composition bodies, antique decoys, Maxfield Parrish prints, and anything from the Art Deco era. The list goes on....

PM me if you'd like to snail mail with me. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best,

Laura

Hello Inksters:

I am a 40 something single male living half way between Toronto and Detroit. I had my first FP in school some 30 years ago. I collect mostly Sheaffers but have been seduced recently by a lovely Parker 51 that was given to me...I am active in posting at FPN mostly related to Sheaffers but also Penmanship. I practice calligraphy of various styles - the icon is an ongoing project. I promise variety of pen, ink, and style of correspondence.

My interests including reading, music, theatre, film, philosophy, things mechanical and dogs. I like being outdoors and comping when given the opportunity. I have a mutt who consumes much of my time so he will be a regular topic. I am traditional in many ways but welcome the opportunity to learn from other people's experiences. I do not travel much but would enjoy hearing about far flung places. Our local pen club meets weekly but do not restrict ourselves to writing instruments. I will write about once a month.

Send me a note and I will write first it you prefer...

Cheers, David

A hoy!

My name is Dave, 28 from Shropshire, England. I was pulled back into fountain pens a little over 2 years now. I've got a good assortment of pens, ink, paper (and hopefully soon waxes) but apart from menial tasks, they aren't used much and I'm sure this upsets them, so some letters to you nice people should set that right and I could try out some calligraphy!

My interests include Tv, films, acting, computer games, cars, swimming, walking, watches, architecture, photography, whisk(e)y and dogs... the list could go on but they are the main ones. Hopefully that list doesn't put people off, I'm always interested in learning about something new so if none of yours match mine I don't see it as a problem.

If you want to know more etc, PM me.

  • 2 weeks later...

As I'm still getting requests, I just wanted to say that I'm not looking for new pen friends. I've made some good friends here already! :) Thank you!

Hi all!

I would like to add myself to the list

I love writing long letters and using different pens. I already have a few very good pen pals/friends but all of them are women. So far, I haven't found a good male pen pal who wants only friendship (all my tries ended up in love declarations or requests of my nude pics  ). I'm a 32 year old lawyer living abroad, married and with a little son, so I'm not looking for romance. I just want to find a good male pen pal who will write long letters and will talk about all sort of topics, from politics to science to every day life. In "real life" I have many good male friends and I miss having them in the world of letters as well.

I'm not a native English speaker and I would love to improve this language. Otherwise I speak Spanish, Portuguese,Slovene and understand Italian and French.

If there's anybody interested in writing, I'll tell you more about myself via email or via snail mail, if we decided to exchange addresses at once

Happy new year 2012!

Hi !!

I was thinking it would be really good to hook up with a very few (time is always really short!) pen pals with the same kind of zany fountain pen interest/obsession as myself!

Briefly, I am considered by some to be a geek (but that's cool), highly technical, scientific type, but I also love classical music, composing relaxing meditative pieces (when time allows), and plants.

On a personal level, I'm 45, married, male, with a 9yr old son and hold degrees in Computer Science/Electronics, and Horticulture.

PM me if interested in exchanging addresses etc. B)

Cheers,

E.

Will start answering letters tomorrow after a long break. Been undergoing some medication treatment this summer that made me quite a zombie for a few months but now I am back to my old self almost at least, and healthy as an ox. So hopefully there will be no more delays on my part from now on! Wanna apologize to my wonderful pen pals for all my delays. This is not at all how I intended to start out when I asked for pen pals earlier. From now on I'll be tidy and here :) :) :)

So I guess I should also add myself to the list.

I'm a 20 year old designer living in Mexico with an obsession with the past. I read a lot gothic literature and horror mostly, but I also delve into science, history, philosophy, poetry and a lot of other old stuff. In modern writings I prefer fantasy and historical fiction. Right now I'm reading Arturo Pérez-Reverte's El Capitán Alatriste, and plan to follow it with The Pale Horseman, by Bernard Cornwell.

Beyond that I love animals, coffee, weird notebooks, music, photography, calligraphy and more coffee.

I'm also a advocate for black ink. Almost all my writings are on black ink, with some sepia thrown here and there. :B

If anyone's interested I'm game, just drop me a line and I'd be glad to exchange a some letters.

Where does the time go? It's been a year, so it is time for an update. A few things have changed, but the important things have stayed the same. I now have a handful of treasured penpals, some of whom have turned into wonderful friends. I still love to use beautiful paper and ink, and I still apprecuate letters written on just about any kind of paper.

After a very stressful year, I am looking for a new school, but I will still be teaching. I have taken a sabbatical from my master's classes for now, but I am experiencing a personal renaissance of sorts rediscovering some old loves that I have not had time for in a long while.

I still watch movies with my partner in crime, but nowadays we are more likely to stay in and catch something on Netflix or Amazon. We've recently been watching a lot of foreign films.

I am looking for a couple more penpals. Every few months (mostly December and the end of May) I get overloaded with work responsibilities and may take a little longer to answer, but I always write back. Usually, it is within a few days.

Send me a PM if you are interested, and I'll give you my address.

hi i read your info I'd like to write to you if you are interested let me know :)

hello there,

im a 26 year old male from london, england. im interested in exchanging letters domestic and foreign.

I was forced to write in cursive with a fountain pen as a child but never cared much for it and never tried to improved, now all i try to do is exactly the opposite! so all critique welcome.

i work in I.T. but loathe technology! work that one out hehehe, i have free time towards the beginning of the week so at minimum i can reply weekly.

I have many interests in many things such as old mythology esp. Greek, history, philosophy, languages the problem is i always forget what i learn! hehe

In my free time i enjoy reading, photography, comedies, tinkering with anything i can get my hands on.

some one with the same interests that can bestow some of their knowledge on such things would be an added bonus.

my profile is pretty empty but if i have left something out please ask.
