No, I am nowhere near that area. I am not very good at cleaning windows. This is one area where I am trying to get better. I hate how hard it is to get rid of the dirt that got into the small hard to reached areas. I am good at doing floor though :-) From time to time, I will do it old style: hands and knees. I don't think that there is a better way to get the best results than doing it old style. It takes longer, and requires more effort, but the result is much better.

You're right, hands and knees is best. Unfortunately, my knees won't let me do it that way anymore. However, fortunately, my vision isn't as good as it used to be either, so I don't see the dirt so much. See, it all works out! :ltcapd:

I used to write many letters to many people, but over the years they diminished until I only have one faithful correspondent left, a relationship of 25 years or more. I'd like to do more letter writing. So I hope someone will reply to this here request.

I rather boggle at trying to describe my interests. They do tend to fall into the categories of spirituality, art, and domesticated nature.

Spirituality: was a practicing Zen Buddhist in a monastery, left that for years, and then became a Catholic about 18 years ago. Before my conversion I had never been to a Christian service of any kind. So it was sort of dramatic. I am an Oblate of the Camaldolese Benedictines.

Art: mainly writing, including fiction (published short stories, wrote novels I didn't sell), also at various times handbuilt clay sculpture, very elaborate embroidery and hand-quilting, and am interested in spinning and weaving but haven't had the time/energy to invest. Yet.

Domesticated nature: dog training especially herding training, small livestock (sheep, goats, poultry), vegetable and fruit gardening (have a certificate in organic horticulture from the Pleistocene 1977), and before that, horses were what turned my crank. Presently am focusing on animal husbandry as a land-healing activity -- grass-based agriculture. I milk my goats and make cheese, butter, and yogurt.

I also designed and built my own house in the forest (along with my husband).

I have a daughter in college. I'm coming up on 30 years of marriage (to an engineer who works in particle physics). I'm in my middle 50's.

I'm a lifelong pessimist who believes the world is coming to an end shortly. A very large percentage of the modern world I find appalling and despicable, I'm afraid. I participate in it but wish I didn't have to.

I have a lot of sympathy with rural conservatism even though I am somewhere to the left of the Dalai Lama in many ways.

And fitting in -- anywhere! -- has never been my forte.

I write excellent letters.

That's about enough!

I would like to be in.

I am more interested in writing letters to the elderly / shut-ins as a type of community service activity, but this is a good start. I like letters and like mail.

I am a teacher and have lived in the MidWest, various parts of New England and the mid-Atlantic.

I'd be interested in a pen pal.

I am a computer geek type in general, but also a crafty person.

I like computer games and make soap/lotion/lip balms, and knit/spin/weave/crochet as well.

My husband has started making beer, so I know a little about that as well.

I like to cook, and generally make most things from scratch, just because that way I can make it like I want it to be.

I shall endeavor to be a good pen pal.

Hello all, I'm looking to gain a writing partner or so outside of my family and friends. I have been interested in fountain pens for a while now, 3 years actively, and rather addicted to inks.

To tell the truth I forget what my profile has listed, so I'll update after this post. I'm looking for someone to write with in regards to similar interests, and some not. I'm not into conflicts so I'm not much interested in argumentative personalities, why can't we all just get along :P .

My interests revolve around earthy types, clean foods, less disposables, and so on. I use a straight razor and rebuild them. I'm a cook that enjoys many side hobbies that revolve around food. I like bicycle touring and will be doing that more and more. I love muzzleloading and most things relating to the early to mid 1800's, pocket watches, coins, razors, and such.

I'm also into Japanese fountain pens, kitchenknives, art, food, and other things that escape me. My daughter is addicted to Manga and drags me in now and again.

I'm in CA, male in the mid 40's married for 20 years (minus 1 day at this time) and have lived all over the states. My wife and I are both veterans.

So if anyone is interested and thinks we can get a good letter thing going please send a PM and lets write a bit :)

I am a junior in high school in the middle of the desert aka. Phoenix, Arizona. I like to read, I am currently halfway through both Mark Twain's autobiography vol. 1 and "The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy". I spend my summers golfing and as a contract labor programmer. I can correspond in English and/or Esperanto. I got into fountain pens a few months ago and am obsessed not just with the pens but with the whole world of ink and paper that comes with it.

PM me if you would like to help me procrastinate Calculus homework by writing you a letter!

I am most definitely down for some snailing... It will help keep me out of trouble during the times of boredom that always come with time in the Naval Service. My non work interests include Photography when i have a camera, cooking, cycling, greek/roman/renaissance history, musics of all kinds, and expanding my horizons.

After spending some time lurking on this forum, I decided to join in hopes of acquiring some new penpals.

A little about me - I am an IT professional who lives on a farm with an ancient horse, a Border Collie, 2 house cats and too many barn cats to count. I knit, needlepoint and read a lot. I used to write a lot of letters but got out of it gradually in the 90's and now wish to start back.

I am trying to start collecting fountain pens but the ones I really like cost more than some of my horses did. :yikes: So I currently just have a couple of workhorse pens from Levenger.

I am a 60 year old female.

I think this is a pretty cool idea, but I'd like it if someone wrote to me first, since I've never written a letter in my life. I have no problems with the writing itself, but I'm not aware of the formalities involved :)

So, count me in!

Short bio: 19-y-o, grew up in the city, if you can call this place a city xD

I'm into tech (my major is Electrotechnical Engineering), so, maybe someone out there has the same interests. I also like fountain pens (obviously) and music, anything from the 15th century up, in terms of Classical, and as far as contemporary goes, I'm in the Prog train. (I really hate pop, rap, and basically anything that makes its way into MTV and such.)

It would be great if someone mailed me first since I have never done something like this before. :)

Caco

I would love to exchange written mail, this is a sadly lost communication media. Telephone and Email are dangerous stuff. When you click send, that's it, the message, however little reflection it took to be written, is on its way. Letters were written and rewritten, lots of thought put into them, handwriting was worked to high standards ...

Pens, inks and paper are a passion to all of us. This is a welcome thread.

I am a 43 yo medical doctor and psychoanalyst, an avid music and literature lover, and an amateur cook.

I love to receive letters, and I love to write them just as much! I'm a 30 something cognitive neuroscience Ph.D. student. I love anything that makes me laugh, Jane Austen, cycling, chocolate, cooking, music, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and, of course, FPs and all things inky. If you are interested in exchanging letters, feel free to send me a PM.

Hmmm. We seem to have so many things in common. I have taken a few psychology classes and will be taking some more I think. I am interested in firearms, knives, and I am also have one start from the World Underwater Federation. That said, I have so little time to write even with just two pen friends already. I can give it a shot I guess.

I wrote my bio some time ago, so I decided to update my information.

I'm a 20 year old telecommunications college student (the careeer is know in Spanish as "Telemática") living in Mexico. Mainly the career is a mix between electronics, IT and (tele)communications.

I love writing and reading, though I read more than a write (my house looks like you stepped into a library instead of a home). I do some writing (co-writing with some friends and currently scripting two graphic novels/comics) but mostly I draw (that's what hooked me into pen & ink).

Currently I'm halfway my career, and considering branching to the arts.

I don't know if my life may be considered interesting, but I'd be happy if anyone could correspond. I write in English or Spanish, so whatever suits you best, that's what I'll do, (I do know a it of German, but haven't practiced it in about a year, so it's rusty).

Be sure that the exchanges will include some sketches or small drawings, and sometimes some extras like wrappers or tidbits I find.
