I'm a 21 year old male and I am currently an undergraduate majoring in Biology, aspiring to become a Physical Therapist. I live in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains of Southwest Virginia. My fountain pen love started close to a year ago. Since then I have aquired close to 40 fountain pens, many cheap with a few mid-range. I'm trying to improve my penmanship and I enjoy writing letters. I enjoy making new acquaintances, so let's be pen pals!

Much has changed since my first post. I’m now 27, didn’t become a physical therapist but a librarian instead. Finished undergrad and graduate school. Have many more pens and inks, all across the price spectrum. Engaged to be wed and planning to move soon. However, a lot of my pen pals have fallen off, so I’m open for more if anyone would like to write!

Just having a browse on FPN having been away for a while. With so many in lockdown with fountain pens and paper I am surprised there are not more looking for pen pals.

Greetings,

Currently I am student living in NYC. Since due to recent events I have a completely online class schedule now and extra time for letter writing. I'm studying English and some of my hobbies are writing, reading fantasy/fiction, collecting stationery, video games, travel, drawing, cats, and my computer. Usually I'm fine with most topics except politics and religion.

My favorite FP is Pelikan and I like Sailor Inks. I look forward to hearing from you :cloud9:

Still looking for penpals for 2021. Thanks.

Hi, there, Ambien!  I have a degree in English, and a daughter who's studying English/Creative Writing emphasis (chip off the old block).  We have two cats, and love to write (she's a poet; I'm a diarist), and we read all sorts of genres (lately, I've gotten her interested in the Dune universe).  I'm gradually getting her more interested in fountain pens, too, as I journey further into the hobby myself and am keen to share it with others.  I'm also an amateur calligrapher and make most of my own journals, so of course I adore pens, inks, paper of all types.  Would love to snail mail with you, and perhaps we could get my daughter to join in from time to time.  :)

Is anyone interested in exchanging letters about your responses to just one piece of music, or just one poem or book? Maybe you would write to me about a Shakespeare sonnet and I would write to you about listening to a string quartet; you would write to me about listening to an opera and I might write to you of Mary Oliver, Philip Larkin, William Wordsworth.

I don't mean it to be an intellectual exercise--just a discussion of what has aroused your passions recently.  I am NOT an "intellectual" at all.  I can't write as if I were a graduate student steeped in literary analysis or musicology.

Of course we can include discussion of pens and inks!    I am simply more interested in the arts now than in the terrors, trials, and tedium of daily life.

I am an elderly lady who has one foot in the twentieth century and the other in the nineteenth.  Politically left-wing as can be.

Send me a message if you are at all interested.

It's been about 2 years since I originally posted in this forum and currently have a dozen or so penpals from both the US and around the world.  Since I've recently retired I thought it a good time to throw out the net another time.

I have varied interests and especially like most of the sciences. I spend a lot of time reading astronomy, astro physics (to the extent I can grasp it), cosmology. I like contemporary films and lately that means Netflix and Amazon Prime.  (I Care A Lot and Judas and the Black Mesiah are most recent an both quite good) We long for the chance to go to a movie theater again.  Since this group understands this... I own about a dozen pens and about double that in inks.  My most recent pen purchase was a Nakaya and I have to say that they live up to their reputation.  Hope to get another one this year.

Shoot me a note.. I'd love to correspond with you.

Mark

Hello Everyone,

I logged in today on a whim after being on a sabbatical for about 10 years.  My wife and I began re-watching Downton Abbey and it has reinvigorated my love for the better things in life - dressing, food and beverages, and, of course, fountain pens and corresponding by letter.  Alas, here I am.

So, a little about me:  I am in my early-30s and have been married to my wife for eight years.  We are expecting our first child, a boy, in the near future.  I am originally from the southern United States and we are currently living in the northeast.  For the next few years we will be traveling and living abroad.  By profession, I am an attorney with an interest in international relations and geopolitical situations.

My interests include, aside from the obvious fountain pens and fine stationary, traveling; modern design; Formula 1 and endurance racing; working on cars; camping and hiking;  technology in all of its facets; the finer things in life (cigar, whisky, etc.) and, as I previously alluded to, period dramas.

As to my pens, I am quite utilitarian in my usage of fountain pens meaning that I use them everyday for everyday tasks.  Therefore, I need a pen that is light in the hand, easy to write with, and can stand up to a lot of notetaking.  My first fountain pen, and the one I use the most still today, is the Lamy Safari filled with a blue ink from Birmingham Pen Co.  (The current name escapes me.)  I generally have a second Lamy Safari filled with a black ink.  As to pens for grander occasions, I have a St. Dupont and on its way is another Lamy, but this time a Dialog 3 which I have a nice J. Herbin 1670 grey ink to accompany it.  I am interested in picking up additional fountain pens as we travel the next couple of years.

I am interested in having a few pen pals to discuss whatever topics interest you, what's going on in the world today, or even everyday life occurrences.   Please send me a message if you are interested in sharing letters, and if it appears to be a good match, we can swap addresses.

I hope that all of you have a wonderful weekend.

Best,

A.D.

[P.S. Currently, most of my stationary and inks are in transit so I will be writing with my everyday pen and ink.]

Hello! I'm Mar_ or Mar, Mitchell Noah Martin, Mitchell Martin, Martin - either works, It's all the same to me.

(lets keep this to the U.S.)

I'm 18 in September.

- Interests -
Aside from the Pen Realm...
Aviation
Firearms
Automobiles
Graphic Design
Video Games
Video Editing
Music

I'm not good with biographies, talking about myself isn't easy, but talking about my interests seems to be quite the opposite so I'll list a few things about each that could spark up a idea :)

Pen Realm - I've got a Hong Dian 1850 (I think it is) the Hong Dian Forest Series Black Forest w/ a Fude Nib - (My ma' bought my first pen for Christmas) 2020 I've got 3 clear Jinhao 992s with various stub nibs, I've got a Jinhao 51a with a Hooded .38 Nib -( the Jinhaos are a gift from a friend) and a Parker Sonnet Black & Gold.(Won via giveaway) | Inks - I've got Parker Quink Blue-Black, Noodlers Texas Navy, and MANY samples. Still expanding. | I want to get a Glass Dip pen someday if I can convince my ma'. I'm hopefully getting a Jinhao x750 here soon, and well, yeah idk what else to write here.

Aviation - I'm a fan of a youtuber - Tucker Gott (Paramotor Pilot) He flies motorized backpacks w/ a parachute (wing) above the head. I want to get trained to fly a Paramotor though i've not done too much research just yet. I've no chance of learning with my lack of funds so I'm not torturing myself by doing the research lol.

Firearms - I've not shot, but the mechanics of a firearm, the designs of a firearm, the military units whom have specific firearms for specific tasks and their choice and reasoning of choosing which weapon from specific brands, yeah idk.
Automobiles -  No license just yet but I can talk automotive talk all day. Literally anything goes.
Graphic Design - Just an interest, nothing I pursue just yet.
Video Games - I love to play. I love to Race (clean racing is key racing), Drifting, FPS games, I HATE sport games... character movement is finicky

Video Editing - I've always contemplated making videos, I just don't quite know what to make videos of.
Music! -  YES I used to play Viola, I love Country Rock, Dark Country Rock is what I search up and listen to nearly every day. I've also gotten into Acoustic Grit and a few pop songs. I listen to a bunch of sad "vibe" music too.

hmm idk what to type, I've not done much in life, i've just lacked a good fortune aside friendship.

If you want to know something funny about my name...

Mitchell N Martin - MnM ~ M&M = Mars and Murry. Mars = Chocolate Company. Mars - "s" = Mar
Martin - tin = Mar + "s" = Mars = Mars Chocolate Company & = Mars Bar.
Martin - Mar = Tin = Container ~ Chocolate Container
Martin = Chocolate/Container + MnM = Chocoholic.

I’d love to find people to write letters with! I’m 39, female and from Finland. I’m a seamstress by trade but also have a degree in library science.

I enjoy literature (both novels and non-fiction about various subjects), long walks, culture, all kinds of arts and crafts, music (mostly classical), writing letters and journal, fountain pens and paper, dance and exercise, collecting dolls, learning languages, jigsaw puzzles, and so on.

I value all kinds of letters, about mundane daily life topics as well as deeper subjects. I’m interested in whatever you want to share with me! My letters tend to be on the longer side, so it would be nice if yours were the same. But the most important is the joy of writing- no pressures!

If you’re interested in writing letters with me, do send me a message, regardless of age and gender. Old acquaintances are also welcome to get back in touch!

Hey hia,

MR O here

Write me a letter about anything, everything - while I aint afraid of politics , sex or religion, I'm afraid I don't have politics, I have a meager supply of faith and sex would be rather difficult over a letter don't you think? Happy to give it a shot... I guess that's what they did back in the days before phones and what not...anyways I'm getting sidetrack, a bit about me because that seems to be the formula here:

Im 26. Im male.

Some podcasts I listen to: The Huberman Lab , Sam Harris , Rich Roll.

I love watching movies - chick flicks, blood n'guts, documentaries (Ken Burns ❤️) period dramas etc.

Music taste is all over the place: Brittney Spears, Bach, Ellie Golding, Hailey Reinhardt have been in the mix the past week or so. Then I'll get bored and move to Rocknroll, Francis Bebey and pop that I pretend I dont like but secretly do etc. What do you listen to?

I always have a book or two going. Currently am reading the Iliad (Stanley Lombardo translation) Anne Franks Diary and On The Road.

Some other hobbies include motorcycling, walking, gardening, writing poetry, fishing, sailing etc. I love life but...

I also suffer from mood swings , self-doubt/pity , all consuming confusion and the like , so I'm comfortable expounding upon these topics and if you suffer from anything like pain etc I'd like to hear about it. Personally I find pain and sadness just as interesting/compelling as joy and comforting moments so .. just thought I 'd throw that out there.

So ummm message me if ya wanna talk shop

Hello everyone!

I'm Aubrey and I am really hoping to find a penpal or two.

I'm 26, female, and I have a wide array of hobbies. I enjoy reading, cross stitching, playing video games, watching anime, cooking/baking, and building plastic model kits (mostly Gunpla).

I have a degree in Art History and I dream of going back to school to pursue a higher degree.

I also have 3 years of experience in learning Japanese, but recently haven't been practicing enough. I would love the opportunity to practice in letters to others if possible.

While I haven't had much experience writing letters, I love writing and I especially love reading about others people's lives.

Feel free to message me if you are interested :)

I am a 62 year old retired secondary school English teacher in Scotland. Male. Currently I write to around twenty people. Your age and situation in life are immaterial: all welcome. Feel free to write on any subject of interest and I don't do 'no religion, no politics' as they are ordinary aspects of life. My letters are  mostly reflections on daily life and what happens to occur to me about what is going on, and about your interests, of course.  Please PM if interested.

Ahoy From Canada!! I am 58. Male.  I own more fountain pens than I should. Really fed up with this Zombie Apocalypse at present. I work as a HR Director with Commissionaires Ottawa, Security at our Department of Justice (284 Wellington Street -Ottawa...Google that!! Hideous Federal style facility built in the 1950's!!) Would be delighted to make your acquaintance. My job is what I do, it is not who I am. I love animals - I miss my black lab more than my first wife....haha!! Love humour, eclectic tastes, I am a grand chef. I am certain, if I were ever able to be invited to your home in Scotland, I would headquarter it as a base of my operations....I worked in Museums for 28 years and often thought if I were ever fortunate enough to venture to the UK.....I might never bloody leave.....I respectfully tender my request to join your family of correspondents...Daniel.

Ahoy Iranna,

I live in Canada. I am 58, Male. Currently employed at our Department of Justice at # 284 Wellington Street, in Ottawa. I work as an HR coordinator with Commissionaires Ottawa. (The Corps) Please Google map that hideous sample of 1954 Federal Architecture!!.  I joined "The Corps" in 2010 after retiring from my previous employments...

When I worked in Museums from 1981-2009 and was paid to walk the corridors with the stuff of history with the men and women who were THERE. I was blessed with a career that demanded you LEARN daily. And, I loved it.

I know what a Kammer Rheinhart is from a Jumeau and an Armand Marseilles, Madame Alexander and Kathe Kruse, if you want to talk about Dolls...

I love Doggies, and miss my Black Lab "Dooley" so much.  I am so fed up with this "Zombie Apocalypse". And cannot wait for the world to return back to something that resembles "normal"....in the meantime, we can pen our Pals, defeat the world with our letters, inks, fine paper and envelopes, our stickers and our multicoloured inks!! HAHA!!

In the interim, I live in Ottawa, Canada, it is a Garden in a City. My neighbourhood is called "New Edinburgh." It is some of the best walking in the world. Ever hear of the "Rideau Canal"....

I hope you might permit me to join your family of correspondents.

Take care,

Daniel.

This is a special proxy penpal request.

I have a daughter, 16 years old. She saw me receiving and writing snail mail and somehow got the hang of it. Now she would like to have a few penpals, too.

She has been an avid basketball player for ten years, and also a big NBA fan (especially but not exclusively Golden Gate Warriors). She also likes to read (a lot), not only the typical YA curriculum, but also more serious works. (She's recently finished the Odyssey...) She is a LoTR, Percy Jackson, Harry Potter and MCU fan. She likes to draw.

She is not on social media, and I have concerns about creating an account for her in the big internet penpal exchange sites.

If you happen to have a like-minded young daughter, son, niece or nephew or pupil, or next door young person, preferably in her peer group, who is interested in such a penpal, please PM.

Oh, yes, she also writes with fountain pens, fluent in English, learns French in addition to her native Hungarian.

"Every author really wants to have letters printed in the paper. Unable to make the grade, he drops down a rung of the ladder and writes novels." (P G Woodhouse)

I'm looking for a Penpal on Guernsey, somewhat selfishly because my daughter is going to be on a Guernsey stamp celebrating Post Crossing and I would like a letter with her stamp on it!!

I'm very happy for a one-off or an on-going correspondence. 🙂
