This is such a great idea!
Is this only open for UK residents?

Z.

For the organisations I have listed, you would send your letters to a UK address, but they would welcome letters from anywhere in the world! There are bound to be similar organisations in other countries, the search term I used was “donate write letters for charity”.

I would love to get in on a snail mail exchange with someone. I think the idea of snail mailing is quickly becoming a lost art in our world with the age of computers and email. I think snail mailing and putting pen to page is a lot more personalized. Even some of the great modern authors begin their novels with pen to page long before they sit down to the computer. If anyone would like to do a snail mail exchange I will be more than ecstatic about doing so.

A short biography, I am a 56-year-old male, I was born and raised in Utah in the United States, (no, I am not Mormon), and at the ripe age of 23, I joined the United States Marine Corps, and spent the next 30 some odd years serving the Marine Corps and my country in both active duty and in civilian capacity. I've traveled all over the world and met many interesting people and had great adventures and spent time with some very interesting cultures. I love to fish, I love he outdoors, I love to sit down and write, even if it's only my own journal. I began a love for fountain pens back in the 1990s when I was traveling in the Marine Corps. I was given a Cross pen as a gift, and fell in love with it. I collected many pens over the years until hurricane Florence destroyed my home in North Carolina, and took everything with it. Including my beloved Cross pen. I have recently started buying a few new pens and I'm starting to collect a few to get back into the groove. I have since relocated back to Utah, and enjoying a quiet existence.

I am an avid reader on many subjects. For my enjoyment I like thrillers, and for learning it could be almost any subject. I love history, science, theology, mathematics, too many to list really.  My friends tell me I'm just a big sponge for knowledge. I love to learn new things and I'm always open to the ideas and opinions of others. And I am always open to the free exchange of ideas.

If anyone would like to correspond via snail mail, I would very much enjoy that. Feel free to send me a private message and we can exchange addresses.

Be aware, I have never received any commendations for my penmanship. Read at your own risk. 😂🤣

Yours in ink,

You should check out one of the more recent USPS stamp issues - fishing lures!

(I'm not looking to take on any new penpals at the moment).

Even though I have very little time to spend on forums like this, I am trying to extend my off-line activities - and I would love to have someone (or some two, three?) to exchange letters with...

Me: 40 y/o husband of one and dad of three from South Bohemia (on the border with Austria) main job in edu business, but I am also a publisher, translator, book-designer... In my spare time I enjoy photography (the old way, film, large format cameras, wet prints...), woodworking and woodcarving (spoons, turned bowls, chairs, ...), walking (not only with the dog), reading (both fiction and non-fiction - especially travel writing), hiking, cycling, I recently also started sketching/drawing again... And am also thinking about going to university back again to study computer science / AI... Crazy, am I ? :)

So, if all this sounds somewhat interesting, I'd love to connect - at the moment probably with folks from other parts of Europe (since it is much quicker and easier - in the not so distant past I've had too many parcels lost overseas, both ways)...

Cheers,

Hi everyone,

My arms are a little better these days, and it isn’t taking me quite so long to write each letter, so I wondered if anyone would like to join my list!

I’m female, mid 40s, living in a village with my wonderful partner. I love Vinyl Cafe (Canadian radio show, if you know, you know and love), colours, jazz, photography, old black and white films, interior design, trees and Snoopy. I spend a lot of time trying to figure out what to do with the garden and decor of the house into which we moved last summer. I’, also trying to spend more time stitching, I like goldwork and textile art.

I’m in the UK, I interested in people and welcome replies from all demographics. 🙂

Drop me a line if you’re interested!

Greetings,

I'm looking for new pen pals again. I'm in my 30s and I have a chronic illness, so I spend a lot of time at home with indoor activities like reading, writing, and playing FFXIV. Also, I'm usually reading a book and I don't mind talking about my most recent read book or series.

I used to have a pet cat, but I am unable to have pets now. But I love looking at cat photos online, and one day I hope the local cat cafe will open soon.

Although I've not actively followed new FP news, I still like to discuss my fav notebooks, paper, FP, and inks in my letters. Also, I used to be a part of the Big Apple Pen Club, and I do visit the Pelikan Hub each year in the Fall. I've been in the FP hobby for over a decade now, starting in HS, but I've never been to a local pen show.

Finally, I don't mind domestic or international pen pals. Thanks.

My name is Joey Bernard (username: joeybernard). I am a science geek, but also love folklore and mythology. I am up for chatting about almost anything. I am on the East Coast of Canada, in case you trying to collect enough penpals to fill out your bingo card  🙂

Reach out if you feel like a silly chat.

Hi all,

I am in the market for another pen pal to write to. I am a amateur artist. I love looking at paintings and also doing my own paintings and watercolours. I am also trying to find time to re-learn the French that I learnt at school and build on it. My hobbies include photography and journaling to name a couple.

Hi folks!

As you can probably guess, I'm interested in sending and receiving letters also! I'm 28, I live in Pennsylvania, USA, and I work in a small, family-owned (but not my family) greeting card store. I'm also a fencing instructor and a musician (both mostly for fun and because I love them, though I do make a little money at them from time to time.) I play the flute, mandolin, bagpipes, and a variety of other instruments, I love music of almost all kinds, though I'm deeply in love with jazz right now.

I also love literature, I'm reading a biography of Cicero right now that I can't put down, and I'm pretty much always in the middle of re-reading one or more Tolkien book. (My fiancée and I are taking turns reading The Silmarillion out loud to each other before bed lately.)

My other interests are varied, I try to have something worthwhile to say on most subjects and if I don't, I'm interested in learning!

I've had FPN pen pals before with varying degrees of success, but I'm always interested in trying again!

I figure it's been almost 10 years, so I may as well update this.

Much of the above is still true, although I now make my living pretty exclusively teaching fencing. I'm also currently reading Dostoevsky, and my then fiancee has been my wife for some years.

I have failed in all my previous attempts at being a pen pal, but I do still aspire to long-term success. If you're interested, please send me a DM!

Each man delights in the work that suits him best.
