The fins are obviously for cooling purposes ... else the ink could boil when writing very quickly. :rolleyes:

He's right, though. Since losing my (sic) fin, my writing is 3 degrees hotter.

Sort of wish I had not asked now but, like in a classroom full of scholars, I bet a few have read this and are thinking "so thats what they are for, so glad someone else asked"

Sorry for resurrecting rather than starting a new one... How probable is it (in general) that such fin will break off one day eventually (considering normal use)?

Seeking a Parker Duofold Centennial cap top medallion/cover/decal.
My Mosaic Black Centennial MK2 lost it (used to have silver color decal).

Preferably MK2. MK3 or MK1 is also OK as long as it fits.  
Preferably EU.
