Which Inks Are You Using Today?

Brought Lamy Coral out tonight. I don't use it very often but, when I do, I'm always reminded what an interesting color it is.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Just made a journal entry with Pelikan Edelstein Sapphire in a 400NN with an OBB nib. Bright!

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

  • 2 weeks later...

Noodler's FPH Henry Hudson Blue in an Edison Mina.

Nooder's FPN Van Gogh Starry Night Blue in my updated Edison Menlo with Draw filler.

Sailor Joyful-2 Honda Taniguwadaki Blue in another Edison Mina. The last of the sample I received of this ink. :crybaby:

Organics Studio Nickel Teal, Sailor Kin-Mokusei, Noodler's Army and Noodler's El Lawrence. El Lawrence currently hangs around in my Delike brass pen in case I need something permanent. Nickel Teal is my current primary writing color. Kin-Mokusei is for titles in a fat nib. As far as color palettes, this one is unusual for me.

What a fun way to show the inks off!

Not anything nearly so artistic for me today --

Iroshizhuku Yama-budo in the new Decimo; and Birmingham Scheneley Park Thicket Green in the Sheaffer Balance Oversize.

Birmingham Lilac Wind in a Monteverde Invincia Deluxe. This ink reminds me quite a bit of Oster Purple Rock but is purpler and wetter and does not turn green on any paper, or at least hasn't yet.

Birmingham Phipps Conservatory Verbena in a Bulow x750.

Ooh, I haven't tried Lilac Wind or Verbena yet.

Over on the Pelikan forum is a long list of my birds that are inked up. Here are a few more earthbound combinations:

Birmingham Panther Blue in a Pilot Prera M

Akkerman Vermeers Kobaltblauw in a Montblanc 344 OB

Waterman Serenity Blue in a Waterman L'Etalon F

KWZ Azure #5 in a Waterman Le Man 100 Opéra F

Kyo-no-oto Soft Snows of Ohara in the giant ASC Bronze Arco (this nib is a firehose--I'm going to have to get it adjusted)

Monteverde Fire Opal in a Platinum Izumo Soratame B

Platinum Blue-Black in a Platinum 3776 Black Diamond M with Architect's grind

Sheaffer Blue-Black in a Sheaffer Black Sentinel Snorkel M

Pineider Red in a Pineider Key of Heaven M

Noodlers Black American Eel in a Bulow (Jinhao) X750 ( a nice gift from Birmingham Pens)

Montblanc Permanent Blue in a Montblanc 149 F

Sheaffer Blue in two Sheaffer School Pens, F & M

Sailor Ishida Bungu Hakodate Twilight Blue in a Sailor Pro Gear Realo Burgundy H-F

Sailor Bungubox First Love Sapphire in a Namiki Yukari Sakura M

Montblanc Blue Hour in a Montblanc 146 Platinum with Fritz Schimpf Special Italic

It's not until you make lists like this that you realize the depth of depravity to which we all have sunk!

I cannot (and will not) compete with the famous (or infamous) jmccarty3.

I recently purchased a Nook 3-pen canvas case, so this helps limit the number of pens I have inked at any one time. Yesterday I swapped out the Edison Mina with Noodler's FPH Henry Hudson Blue with a vintage Traveler lever-filler with vintage Shaeffer permanent blue-black.

Today I finally got to use the OS Nitrogen that arrived about 10 days ago. Oh, my! I've given away inks I thought had too much sheen, so much it negatively impacted the color, yet here the result is absolutely spectacular. Just wow.
