I have that one too. :) It's not as nice as I thought it would be. On the other hand none of my Omas inks (except blue in the black box) are as nice as I thought they would be. :(

Graf von Faber-Castell Violet Blue in a Waterman Elegance M. Unbelievably dry ink.

I expected so much more, this ink is disappointing.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Will have to try this one with one of my wet Pelikans.

I filled my pen with Akkerman's Stormachtig Blauw. Hoped it would be more blue than the purple-black I'm getting, but the color is subtle anyway and does remind me of a dark stormy sky at night. It's slightly drier than my ideal, but flows great and behaves incredibly well on a variety of paper.

So far this morning, I did a side-by-side comparison of R & K Scabiosa with Robert Oster Barossa Grape. At least in the pens I tried, the two inks are quite similar. (See also the recent comparison, by Amy Davis, on the Van Ness website.)

Then, with some trepidation, I finally inked up a pen with Noodler's Kung Te Cheng. There are so many stories told about this ink that I find myself looking sidelong at the pen, as if it might, at any moment, DO SOMETHING DRAMATIC. And of course, I nearly panicked when I got some on my fingers, but it did wash off.

But the day has just begun, and I'll spend part of it volunteering at the San Francisco International Pen Show, where there are hundreds of inks to try...
