Akkerman Dutch Masters Steenrood van Vermeer in Pilot Falcon Metal Sapphire 14 kt SE.

What's your impression of the Steenrood?

At the moment (I'll cut down), an all-Akkerman affair:

'Shocking Blue' / Omas 360 EF

'Parkpop Purper' / Omas Ogiva extra flessibile (EF)

'Karmozijn van Rembrandt' / Waterman Patrician (M?)

A fool and his money are soon parted: Montegrappa 300, Waterman Expert II, Omas Ogiva Autunno, Omas 555/S, Omas 557/S, Omas Ogiva Scarlet, Waterman Patrician Agate, Montblanc 144 (lost :(), Omas Ogiva Arco Brown (flex), Omas 360 Arco Brown, Delta Sevivon (stub), Montblanc 146 (1950s), Omas 360 Grey (stub), Omas 360 Wild (stub), Swan M2

A brick-red I think. It is very overcast here waiting for The Ice Storm & the nib is very fine. I like writing with it but can't judge the color yet.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

I don't know why, but the image showing on the FPN is a bit brighter than the image that I adjusted to match what's on the paper, even though the same image is showing in another window on the same monitor. And the real PPS is glowing too much. Go figure...

Lamy Coral and KWZ Maroon. I took Tokiwa-matsu, too, but ended up not using it.

My old reliable: Pilot Blue-Black. In a Pink Pilot Posting nib I have just received in the mail.

Hero #232 Blue-Black is my Waterman Florida Blue.

Your Kilometrage May Vary (#ykmv), a Philippine blawg about ink and fountain pens.

De Atramentis Jules Verne Deep Sea Blue in a Mabie Todd Swan. Great dark blue with a bit of sheen, works nice with a flexible nib.

Diamine Golden Brown in a Pilot Parallel 2.4. Tried it in my Kaweco Classic Sport 1.1 first, and wasn't happy - the pen is a relatively dry writer, the ink is also on the dry side, so the combo simply didn't work for me. With a Parallel nib, it's another story - generous flow, great shading.

Lately I'm in a purple phase. Favourite inks: Sailor Sannomiya Panse, Cross Violet and Noodler's North African Violet.

Diamine Oxford Blue in my Franklin Christoph XLV (model 45). Didn't like the ink while it was in a Parker Duofold Jr with a wet OB nib. But - surprise, surprise! - Oxford is a perfect match for small and stingy Masuyama Cursive Italic.

Practice, patience, perseverance

A festival of colors today: R & K Solferino, KWZ IG Red no. 3, Namiki Blue, KWZ IG Turquoise, and KWZ IG Green no. 4.

I've been on a quest to see if I could commit all Seven Deadly Sins in a single day. Finally, it dawned on me I shouldn't try for the One Day Wonder Prize for all seven in one day. It's simply out of any question as you can't commit decent sloth while busily ticking the other six off your crowded "to do" list. -- ViolinWriter
