Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Unusual color! When I think of thistle, I think of the soft violet of the flowers, or the deep green of the spikey leaves, but this looks more blue. Still pretty, though!

THISTLE is a vintage blue black powder.

Today, and for the past couple of days to be honest, a new brand (for me) Octopus Schwarz.

Really loving it.

A lot.

Very elegant and sophisticated. Nice shade.

A Sheaffer PFM, a Sailor Pro Gear Imperial Black and a Parker 21 Super (the latter used as a desk pen in a Whitefriars Parker glass desk base) full of Sailor Kiwa-Guro; do I really need 3 pens full of the same black ink? Probably not...

A Conway Stewart No.73 full of Caran D'Ache Ultra Violet, which as far as I can tell is an ink identical to the old Storm...

A Montblanc 342G (with a deliciously sweet flexible fine nib) full of Herbin 1670 Stormy Grey;

A TWSBI Mini loaded with Iroshizuku Momiji;

A Lamy 2000 full of R&K Alt-Goldgrun;

A Sheaffer Tuckaway of Sailor Sei-Boku;

and the perennial Stipula Suprema Nuda filled, as always, with Montblanc Racing Green.

Herbin Cacao du Bresil is in my daily carry pen 90% of the time.

Herbin Terre de Feu is kept in my Conklin Crescent-Filler for sketches.

Rohrer und Klingner Alt-Goldgrun gets a fair bit of use, too.

Iroshikuzu Kiri-same gets infrequent use.

Beyond that, they come and they go...

Diamine Bilberry in a MB 149, Iro Kon-peki in a Pilot 78G B stub, Iro Tsuyu-kusa in a Pilot 78G BB stub, Noodler's La Couleur Royale in a Sailor King of Pen, and Iro Yama-guri in a Platinum Izumo Ironwood Gloss.

Noodler's Black. There may be a call for Diamine Red Dragon later as well, and I hope to splatter some greys and browns about, if time permits.

More Noodler's Black; made a reason to use a little Diamine Red Dragon, and a few lines of Irsohizuku Tsukushi, as well. And who knows what I might get up to later with some of the greys and browns weighing down other pens.

Delighted with the new Francesco Rubinato inks that came today:

And then, just for perspective, here's the layout of hills and dales of the collection. I may have to head to Schaumburg, Illinois and the nearest IKEA for storage ideas...
