Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I'm enjoying a nice Sailor Jentle Oku-yama this afternoon:

Sorry for the crummy cell phone photo...

Lessee. This morning it was De Atramentis Dante Alighieri, in the (no longer dry-writing) Noodler's Konrad. Yay for wet inks! Yay for good pen/ink combos!

Then this afternoon I was at a meeting and had to do some research and make a lot of notes to then write up commentary -- the notes were mostly with KWZI IG Violet #3 in one of my Parker Vectors, and then occasionally with Waterman Mysterious Blue in the grey Sheaffer Snorkel Valiant.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Akkerman Garuda Rood.

And for those who are wondering about the name, Wikipedia (yes, I know, not the best source...) tells us that "Garuda is a Hindu divinity, usually the mount (vahana) of the Lord Vishnu. Garuda is depicted as having the golden body of a strong man with a white face, red wings, and an eagle's beak and with a crown on his head. This ancient deity was said to be massive, large enough to block out the sun."

Waterman Florida Blue, South Sea Blue, RnK Verdigris, Diamine Oxblood.

Love both South Seas Blue, and Oxblood. Very rich, and very moody. Wonderful choices!

Started out this morning with GvFC Cobalt Blue--who knows what will happen the rest of the day.

Sheaffer Black

Sheaffer Blue

Waterman Black

..and some P.R. Naples Blue left in one pen.

Buying ink is the quandry for me. There isn't a lot available locally, and the cost of shipping means I need to pick ink carefully. Fortunately, there is a little office supply store near me that can order Sheaffer's ink, and I can get it for under $8. Sheaffer will be my ink of choice for a while. I'm getting away from Private Reserve for a few reasons.
