Kobe Monet Violet & Van Gogh Cobalt

Hi migo984, Is there any way that you could post a writing sample of the Van Gogh Cobalt? The brush drawing Algester posted of it in the Sailor post looked amazing, so I've been wondering what it looks like inked up.

Let's see... this is October, so I have a pen inked with Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo. I also have one inked with J. Herbin Eclat du Saphir, which I might love, have to try more. And something in that third pen. Oh! Tsuki-yo, silly me.

Some very naughty and wicked people showed samples of the new J. Herbin 1670 ink, Stormy Grey. Now, I am waiting (not so patiently) for the next shipment. In the meantime, I will have to content myself with the sublime Rouge Hematite, while the flowers from my plumeria fall.

Caran d'Ache Amazon (Why oh why do I finally discover the best green ink in the world long after it has been discontinued? I have only one bottle and it was the last one in the only place I found it. And only 30ml. Sigh.) Also MB Irish green, which will have to replace the Amazon when it runs out, and JHerbin Blue Ocean, and Iroshizuku Ajisai. And Noodler's X-Feather. Yep, I like to alternate a lot.

Today, it's Toucan Crimson in a TWSBI 580 (F).

And, there are numerous pens inked at home that I could use: Noodler's BSB, Sailor Grenade & Yama-Dori, a couple of home mixes, and I can't exactly remember what else.

The bottle of Iroshizuku's Ama-iro arrived this morning, so I'm trying it out. VERY PLEASED!

Morwen, try CdA Vibrant Green. I'm using it today in an OMAS Vintage Paragon Arco Verde with a 14k EF Extra Flexible nib. This is a beautiful ink that shades wonderfully.

I'm also using Diamine Bilberry in two Montblancs: a 149 from 1968 with a 14k medium nib, and a 344 from 1954 with an EF flexible nib.

I also have my latest acquisition, a Sailor Pro Gear Slim EF with rhodium trim, inked with Ackerman #4 Nassaus Blauw.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

A few new arrivals today from the Netherlands: Akkerman Shocking Blue, Hopjesbruin, and Rood Haags Pluche. On regular paper, much darker than on this Canson tracing paper. Written with 3 different Pelikan Souveräns (2 M200, 1 M800). The Hopjesbruin (Toffee Brown) is a great shader, similar to Pelikan Edelstein's Amber, and the Shocking Blue leaves an amazing pink-red sheen. Wonderful!
