Which Inks Are You Using Today?

At work these days I use primarily Montblanc Midnight Blue (ferrogallic) ink.

I find it a huge improvement on their previous pale "blue-black"! It is darker, much easier to read. I write using two Lamy Al-Star pens (one is grey and the other is silver-colored).

In a ruby-colored Lamy Al-Star, I use a brick-red ink, the R&K Morinda ink, for pointing out abnomalies/risks.

At home, usually doing research work, I use the R&K Verdigris ink in my green celluloid button filler.

Personal letters are the opportunity to write using different, less convenient pens, and my other inks:

Diamine Amber in a Bold yellow sheaffer no-nonsense.

Diamine Oxblood in an old scratchy little piston filler.

Diamine Majestic Blue in a fine sheaffer no-nonsense.

Sheaffer Jet Black in a Kaweco student (with modified grip!).

Strangely I have 5 blues and a purple (tanzanite) on the go.

Didn't mean it to be that way, usually have only 3 blues on the go.

The blues, to my best guess looking at the line laid out...

Sailor Kiwa-guro, Sourakouen tea green and Minatogawa lime, all in broadish italic nibs.

Black for where only black will do, the darker green for general stuff and the lime for annotation.

Using Sailor blue-black for the first time, and it's very very nice. Just a touch less elegant than my MB MIdnight Blue, but not much. It's in a nice wet Vac so I should really get to see it.

  • 4 weeks later...

Running my newly purchased Chesterfield Archival Vault ink (a.k.a Diamine Registrar's Ink) through a Parker Urban, medium nib.

I like it a lot. I'm getting the dark blue-black (when dry) that I was seeking with Noodler's Blue-Black, without the smearing and other problems I encountered with the Noodler's.
