Today (so far) it's been J Herbin Rose Cyclamen, in one of my Parker 61s, F(?) nib; and Sailor Souboku, in the ebonite Noodler's Konrad, flex nib.

YES!

I love using my parallels to simply write with. I almost exclusively write in block capitals and it somehow gives the letters a more structured shape.

Plus, if you're not sure an ink's safe to use, putting it in a $10 pen won't cause you to lose any sleep. It's rare I don't have one of these inked up.

I didn't find Whaleman's Sepia to be "unsafe" -- just that it wouldn't flow.... :( Couldn't get it to come out of a pen nib and feed for love nor money. It's too bad, because it really is an interesting color -- almost has purple undertones to it.

I'm finally getting around to trying a sample I received years ago and this pen hasn't had any flow problems with it. It's worth picking a Pilot Parallel up if you'd like to use this ink. It's a really cleverly designed pen that can keep up with a 6mm italic nib. Genius!

I can't remember now which Noodler's specialty inks came with a warning. For example, I could have sworn Kung Te-Cheng did, but I haven't seen that in posts here.

Birmingham Boiler Steam Blue Black in my Pelikan 140. This quiet green ink is a reasonable match for a pen designed with utility rather than pleasure in mind, but I've been looking for an ink that will make the writing experience more interesting, and Boiler Steam Blue Black is not it.

And as of a few hours ago, Birmingham Allegheny River Twilight in a Pilot Prera F. This nib is not one for showcasing an ink, but I think the combination will be a practical one for scribbling marginalia in a paperback novel.
