Vintage (?) Quink Black - Solv-X - INCREDIBLE cleaning properties and a very very dark blue black look to it.

After a couple of weeks, or more, Sailor's Doyou sadly failed to clean up the Ellis Island stain in my TWSBI 540

I've had the Solv-X in the pen for under an hour an the pink stain has gone. :yikes:

Somehow using two troublemakers seems to have finally brought something more interesting out of the ink: Souten and Sonnet.

Kana-cho Midnight and Cross Violet tonight. Nice to be working again and using my pens.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Great choices. Both are lovely inks.

Today it was vintage Skrip V-Black, in the Sheaffer Balance Oversize which used to belong to my husband's grandfather.

Yesterday, it was what was in the other three pens I had with me over the weekend:

vintage Quink Permanent Violet, in the Forest Green 51 Aerometric;

MB Beatles Psychedelic Purple LE, in the Pelikan M120 Iconic Blue;

and Edelstein Olivine LE, in the vintage Pelikan 400 (that OB nib *really* makes Olivine look spectacular, even if it's not my favorite green.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Noodler's La Couleur Royale (only I think it's mislabelled Noodlers Blue)

http://www.taskyprianou.com/fpn_noodlers_la_coulour_royale_swatch.jpg

and I like seeing it busy at work all over the nib . . .

Pelikan 4001 Blue-Black in a Wahl-Eversharp Decoband. This is the only ink I've found so far that will tame this very wet nib.

Monteverde Documental Blue in a Sailor Pro Gear Sky Blue with an H-MF nib.

Platinum Blue-Black in a Nakaya Long Cigar Ascending Dragon in Ao-tamenuri with an OB nib.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.
