Which Inks Are You Using Today?

Noodlers North Aftican Violet. Kind of disappointed that it isnt a more vibrant, deeper purple. In a F nib; need to try something larger or wetter.

De Attementis Goat. Good deep berry color; great for my current project and book annotations.

Diamine Skull and Roses.

Yes NAV needs a huge feed.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Fo rme it's been KWZI IG Light Aztec Gold. I acquired several bottles of ink yesterday at the Commonwealth Pen Show, but then spent last evening and a good chunk of the day today on the road home.

And at the moment, I'm running my laptop on battery -- a tree on the side of the yard fell (we're not in as dire shape as the Carolinas, but Pittsburgh has still gotten a lot of rain this summer -- including about 6" from the dregs of Hurricane Gordon, only to get MORE with the dregs of Hurricane Florence). And apparently damaged something on the utility pole, so when it happened suddenly we were getting severe brownouts, and now the power is out completely until the electric company fixes the utility box.... (I keep checking the power strip that the floor lamp is currently plugged into -- and which the laptop cord is plugged into --and at the moment the little green light is still/back to being off... :glare:).

Diamine Havasu Turquoise. I've been looking for a really vibrant turquoise for a while and this is wonderful.

Oh and Kobe Minatogawa Lime as well - I just can't leave it alone. My favourite ink.

Troublemaker Inks?????

A new ink maker to the market. They are based in Cebu (Philippines). Currently have a somewhat limited range of colours but Im very impressed with the two standard inks Im testing. Ive got Hanging Rice (a must for lovers of yellow-leaning murky greens) and Bantayan Turquoise. No problems, well-behaved, nicely saturated, easy enough to clean out.

They also do a few shimmer inks but I dont touch those types of ink so cant comment on their performance.

Their prices are very fair and they ship free of charge to many (but not all) parts of the world. This makes them competitively priced. Shipping to U.K. took less than 2 weeks.

A key selling point is that you can specify your preferred degree of wetness/flow on a scale of 1 - 4.

From their website:-

Q: What should I expect from the different flow options you provide?

A: It's hard to exactly convey their wetness, so the levels roughly correspond the following contemporary inks you might be familiar with:

Dry. Pelikan 4001

Moderate. J. Herbin standard inks

Wet. Pilot Iroshizuku

Extra-wet. wetter than Sailor Jentle

I chose (3) Wet and I have to say the inks I got are pretty close to Iroshi performance. I suspect that extra-wet may be a tad too wet though.

On my experiences to date I recommend them to those wanting to try something new.

(Apologies for poor quality snapshot.......)

I just received an order from Anderson's with Montblanc Lavender and Sailor Souboku along with a sample of Diamine Purple Dream. I'll be using them as soon as I figure out which pens to put them in.

The rest of my current inks are:

Creative Writing Pens:

Herbin Poissere de Lune in a CH 92

Sailor Rikyu-cha in a Ranga 4C

Sailor SeiBoku in a Sailor Sapporo

Iroshizuku Yama-guri in a Platinum 3776 Century

Sailor Oku-Yama in a Pilot Custom 74

Work Pens:

Sailor Sei-boku in a Wing Sung 601

Sailor Yonanga in a Lamy 2000

Sailor Kiwa-guro in a Sheaffer 444

Pocket/Wallet Pens:

Pilot Blue-Black in a Vanishing Point

Noodler's Lexington Gray in a Pilot 95s

I'm anticipating that the purples will fall firmly in the creative/personal category and the Souboku will be mostly for work, but we'll see.

Yet another Sarah.
