I was thinking that I've seriously neglected Diamine Steel Blue recently, so I used it so much today that I had to screw the piston knob up. Hope Steel Blue won't hate me now.

Other inks I've used to day are

RK Salix IG,

Diamine Emerald,

Pelikan Edelstein Smoky Quartz,

Diamine Chocolate Brown,

and Kaweco Sommerlila.

Today I've been using the new Sailor Shikiori Yonada. It's very similar to the Kobe van Gogh Blue; it's actually darker and the color is more of a navy blue, almost a blue-black (though not as dark or BB as Kana-cho), where the van Gogh is 'bluer'. Not seeing any green sheen yet, just the red, but it's only been in the pen for a couple days. All in all, a nice color.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

I guess you're using an Aurora? :)

Today I have been using ...

Diamine Steel Blue (Sailor PG Emperor)

Iroshizuku ku jaku (Pelikan M805 Icean Swirl)

Leo Tolstoy Sky Blue (Aurora Optima Azzura  )

Nope, my only gold-nibbed pen is my Sailor Pro Gear Slim.

I have Diamine Steel Blue in a Wing Sung 698 with a Pilot Pluminix F nib instead of the stock one.

Btw, today I used

Caran d'Ache Chromatics Idyllic Blue,

Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue,

Diamine Steel Blue,

Diamine Matador,

and

GvFC Olive Green.

Steel Blue is a great ink in my opinion, I love it!

Even though it's an indescribable color, bright, picky with its paper, and stains everything?

It is like a turquoise to me. I have not found it to be picky with my paper. It has not stained anything, and is easy to clean out of your pen too. (for ME)

Ah, I see - it's just that your description of screwing the piston knob up sounded like the Aurora piston feature :)

I enjoy Steel Blue as an occasional ink, when I feel the need for a "colour pop" in my journal. Montegrappa turquoise has a pronounced green component that puts it mid-way between Steel Blue and turquoise.

Anyway, today I have been using ku-jaku :)

My first Aurora will probably be a vintage 88, as I can find them easily enough on the Italian ebay. Will I experience this peculiar Aurora piston feature with the 88?

Steel Blue "pops" alright!

I checked with a couple of retailers I know that sell Montegrappa ink, but they have black and blue colors only. Is this Montegrappa Turquoise a vintage ink? I'm so ignorant about many inks, apologies if it's a dumb question.

And today I used:

Monteverde Ocean Noir (emptied the converter!)

Caran d'Ache Chromatics Idyllic Blue,

and I'm off to use Rouge Hematite, since it's been a while since I've used, it's probably mad as hell at me, that princeling of an ink.

As far as I know, all of the modern Aurora piston fillers use their so-called "riserva magica" system. When the piston is fully wound down, the last drops of ink can reach the feed, as long as the piston knob remains extended. Pure magic :)

I think the expanded range of Montegrappa ink colours is a fairly recent development. Burgundy is gone, and the range now consists of coffee, red, black, blue-black, green, violet, turquoise and fuchsia - all in 50ml bottles. There's a nice showing of their turquoise here…

Strangely, Montegrappa ink does not appear on the Montegrappa online store

Today I have been using…

Iroshizuku asa-gao

R&K Alt-goldgrün

Diamine Steel Blue

It's early, so there may be more :)

A rare - well I can't easily find it on a Google search - ink from Salor. I beleive it's called Arashsi Machi (Stormy Town) and Sailor produce it for a store in China.

It's the closest ink, in colour, I've seen to Heironymous Blue 01  and also very similar to Papier Plume's Oyster Grey

Thank you Lgsoltek for this and three other STUNNING ink samples.

Tas, love the drawing!! What veggie is it? Looks like an artichoke to me?

And that color is fascinating, I'm not even trying to list all the hues that I see in it. Wow!

Today I received my new inky order!!! I'm so thrilled guys!

From the old guard:

Diamine Meadow (emptied the cartridge, rip).

Diamine Chocolate Brown,

Herbin 1670 Rouge Hematite.

From the new faces!

RK Verdura (love it! Although it's in my Sailor Pro Gear, and everything feels great with its nib so Verdura kind of cheated for its first impression).

and

RK Scabiosa (nothing prepared me for this amazing dusty purple. Be still my heart!)

Thank you for the explanation!

And for the link! The Montegrappa green, dark-blue and coffee colors look awesome.
