At work: Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue again, Pelikan M600 F.

At home: Parker Quink Black, Eversharp Skyline M semi-flex. Surprising amount on feathering even on "nice" paper.

Messing about with inks...

What's really interesting is the difference in shade of the Noodlers Brexit. I think the middle example is from an unshaken/not shaken enough bottle, while the top and bottom examples are from a well shaken bottle. Also, the last time I used the Kung Te-cheng the shade was much lighter. I suspect I hadn't shaken the bottle enough that time too.

Thank you for this comparison! I really love the Kyo-iro ink and keep asking myself what I would purchase as a replacement if Soft Snows ceased to be manufactured, and I've wondered about these, which I now see side by side. So far the leading contender is Robert Oster Barossa Grape.

Funnily, I like the middle instance of Brexit best of three you show. I'm not sure my screen is calibrated well, but the other instances of Brexit remind me of J Herbin Bleu Myosotis.

I am sorry to use an example in Spanish but I am using an image of a pen presentation in the Spanish forum...

Carbon ink from Caran d'Ache... with a very old Swan Pen from Mabie Todd & Bard, New York

I haven't tried the Robert Oster inks, or the Bleu Myosotis...far too many inks (and pens)...not enough cash . :(

I also don't have a large budget for inks, but fortunately I have opportunities to try unfamiliar ones. This past weekend at the San Francisco pen show, there were more than 600 inks available to try, including about 20 Oster inks.

Thank you! I think everyone had fun. I spent most of my time working at the registration desk, but I did have a couple of hours to play among the murky purples (as is my wont).
