Unmarked Small Fountain Pen

An American friend has sent me a small unmarked Fountain Pen he picked up at a garage sale, there is no other information.

 

The nib is marked - 'Wellsharp - Stainless - 14K Gold Plated - Made in USA'

 

I have been searching through sites, books etc. but have not come up with any ideas.

 

Any input would be appreciated. I have attached 2 pictures.

There were a lot of fountain pen makers in the USA in the 30's and even more pen brands most of which are undocumented. That's a cute little pen.

Wow! Thanks for that. I will do some research - it looks very promising. I thought the Welsharp on the nib didn't mean anything, never thought it might be the Company.
