I don't display my inks. I keep them in their boxes, stored in larger boxes in a cupboard, away from heat & daylight. Boring, I know :-/

Super impressive!!!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

My ink storage situation is completely out of control. I've spent the entire summer looking for a display case/ink chest type of thing for my home office without success. I don't think I'm alone in this dilemma. If some enterprising wood worker ever comes up with a solution that looks good, properly displays ink bottles and provides adequate storage with room to grow, he/she will find a goldmine at FPN. Just sayin'.

I did have mine in one of those fabric cube storage things, but my husband encouraged me to put my inks on display, so I bought a few expandable spice rack shelves. (We have blackout curtains up, so I'm not worried about anything happening). Nothing too fancy, but I like it.

This is the pen cabinet that is just to the left side of my desk, it was converted from an old silverware chest. The top section holds the inks that I most often use, they're close to hand. I don't even have to get out of my chair.

The rest of my bottled inks are in these five plastic boxes. They normally live in a closet, away from the sunlight. I just got them out to shoot this photo.

I like the cabinet!

Here are a couple of more pictures of the cabinet. These are from before I had filled the four drawers with pens. I used the flocked trays from Gary and Myrna Lehrer in all four drawers. Boxed sets are in the bottom compartment.

I'm trying to resist the temptation to buy more ink!

I'm trying to resist buying a piece of antique furniture, thanks to amberlea.

Why are there fourteen samples of dark plum ink on my desk? Because I still haven't found the right shade.

Is that a problem...??? : : : sigh : : :

Update: Great. Finally found one I love (Lamy Dark Lilac) but I can't get more. Ah, life in my inky world....

Oh, uh, yeah, but you "need"more antique furniture. Just get rid of the TV.

Ideally (if I ever finish this never-ending home renovation), I'd like to begin storing my inks and pens in an antique writing desk originally owned by my grandmother. For now, however, it's shrouded in sheets of plastic drop cloth, nestled snuggly between my disassembled bed, antique stools, and an old radio cabinet.

Only hiccup? Where the heck will I put all the stuff that's in the desk now? :::sigh:::

I have a new place to house my inks, with a little bit of a story. My father used to do a little woodworking as a hobby and he built a set of shelves for my mother to display small items. I kept these shelves when I was cleaning out their house after my parents passed away. I could never find the right thing to do with the shelves and just kept them in the basement. Unfortunately, we had a problem in our basement and the shelves sustained some water damage. I was going to discard them but my wife told me not to, and she had them redone by a local furniture restoration shop. I just put them up yesterday in my home office. With thanks to my father, my wife (and Hoffmann's Furniture), here they are:

Okay, while the dollar was "strong" - I went on a buying binge of inks.

Also, my grandmother passed away and gave me her bookcase, so I just HAD to expand.

So, I cleaned out the original cabinet. Here it is:
