Ink Collection Pictures

That looks like a lot of blue ink!

Do you keep the original bottles?

I don't keep the original bottles unless I consider them "important." If not, they get recycled or reused by my wife to mix paint colors.

*"Important" is highly subjective but includes vintage inks, useful bottles, some modern inks/ brands no longer around, etc.

Don't feel bad. I'm old; I'm meh about most things.

Thanks for showing your nice collection michelim. In the first photograph what are the two small square bottles in the first & second rows? The bottle in the first row( right hand side) has "orange" characters (?) & the bottle behind it has a gold top.

The both are black inks, one from Delta and the other from aurora:

My ink collect is still in it's infancy, and primary consists of little sample vials, not much to look at!

but I do have a poster of inky madness, :notworthy1:

Thanks Amberlea.

Thank you! I confess to being "nosy" in the interest of discovering a "new" ink. I surely wouldn't have guessed Aurora since I usually associate it with the taller bottles. And the Delta bottle is equally surprising with the nice graphic. I appreciate your taking the time to reply.

Is that really poster of my ink cabinet on the wall? I'm shocked and flattered and smiling.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Afraid it's only a mobile phone pic but this shows my current boxed bottles, samples are still bagged in a different cupboard. Got an amazing deal (£5!) on this this old wooden hi-fi separates unit with a raising lid for a turntable, ideal place to get to the bottles.

I like your pen storage cabinet!

Oh, thank you!!!

It's expanded again. Thanks to a fellow FPNer, I now have one of the "ear" Rubinato bottles and thanks other FPNers, I have the scented Rubinatos inks.

Please let us know how you like those two inks. I have found the Aurora Black to be delightful. The Delta Black, on the other hand, has been desert dry. I have yet to find a pen that will even write with it. (Although, I have not tried it in my one-and-only Delta pen. I really should give that a try.)

I suppose the ink burger would be looking for that "special sauce" with which we write. ;)

Two observations:

1. I'm beginning to think of the ink industry more as a cartel with an endless supply of addicts as their customers as hoarders rather than users

2. If people got rid of their books they'd have more room for ink

I agree.

I actually moved books to the library to make room for ink.
