Wow. Looks a lot like the non-existent (at that time) Red'o'Red I created in Photoshop from the Green'o'Green:

IIRC the Ruby Red is called Red on Red in US. I have just inked mine up with R & K Alt- Bordeaux. I purchased it from Niche pens in UK and it was delivered the day after I ordered it. It has OBB nib and wrote straight out of the box with a broad wet line. It's delightful. My 1st Pelikan

Classic Fountain pens of LA wrote Red o' Red on my Pelikan outer box at one end and at the other there is the factory sticker that says M600 Rubyred. I have gone with Ruby Red for my FP database. To my eye the pattern does not have the o swirls of the M800 Blue o' Blue and M600 Green o' Green.

Like I said it's my first Pelikan. I had to check were I got info from and it was fpgeeks David Brennan and Nibs.com who advertises it as Red o' Red (also known as Ruby Red).

I am that infamous David Brennan (JustDaveyB) from FPGeeks :) I post in both.

I suppose I am being pedantic in that the Green o' Green and the Blue o' Blue have the same swirly patterned in their resins. Where the Red 'o Red doesn't have that - its pattern and colour seems the same as the little M320 Ruby Red pen. I believed the marketing hype when it was announced as the Red o' Red assuming that it would have the same patterns as the other two o' pens.

Having said all that I am extremely happy with this pen.

Funny you should mention the 320. That's were I first saw Ruby Red and thought it very pretty but thought the pen was a little small. I had decided a 1000 was too large but 600 sounded just right. I don't like green for some reason and I had only seen 600 in green or stripes and I prefer the swirly marble. When I saw the Ruby Red on Fpn in a 600 I knew it was the right pen but looked to see if any reviews and found the 1 on Fpgeeks. What a coincidence I quote you.

That picture of the Ruby Red looks to have a face in the plastic, just under the tip of the clip.

I have a fountain pen and matching ballpoint to be shipped next Monday from the Binder's. According to Barbara they are in and she is delaying shipment at my request so I will be back home from an out of state trip when they arrive.

Regards

Yes I can see that - it is not as noticeable viewing the pen in the hand. I tossed up between Binder Pens and John Mottishaw Classic FP as my vender but ended up going with Classic FP (no real reason other than it takes less time for a parcel to get from LA to Australia than from Nashua, New Hampshire to Australia).

Do they make any of the 'o' pens (other then the blue of course) in the 800 size?

Thanks

JD

Untill yet no. But the people in Hannover are clever businessmen, so I'm sure, a special edition in the 800 size as 'o' will come. As an 800 collector I hope, that they will wait a little bit, because I've bought the new Toledo M910 last month and now my budget for pens is down for the next time.

As much as I like the 800 size, I'm hoping they do not, as least my pocketbook does not want the strain.

I just received my Ruby Red yesterda and am impressed.

I had a thought and swapped caps with my Green O' Green and made a couple of nice "Christmas" pens. Red O'Green and a Green O' Red, take your pick.

We need pix :)

I love my 800s - and I have tried the 600s but I have fat hands and the 6 never felt right - funny cause other smaller pens fit fine..........
