Filofax

Thank you for your thoughts, Anitropius. Unfortunately, where I live FF stores are rare, and slimlines even more rare. It also seems FF maybe backing away from the slimline with it's reduction in variety of models. I have pretty much decided on the slimline as it accepts personal-size paper. And, yes the ring size is a key factor with me as is the pen loop. I do like the Holborn, Cuban, and Finsbury best, and all in black. I would consider a Cuban in cognac.

My nitpick:

The standard Filofax paper is not FP friendly. I use the "Cotton Cream" version of the calendar paper, which is better. For note paper, i have FP friendly paper cut and hole punched by a local print shop.

Having paper cut/punched by pros is a great idea!

Hi - I'm also a Filofax lover & have both a Personal & Pocket size. Does your local print shop charge you for cutting & punching your paper? If so can you please relate that, I'm trying to get some idea how much a local shop might consider a fair price.

Thanks.

Found this topic after a bit of searching around. I just ordered a Filofax original as replacement for my pocket notebooks which were getting too beat up over time in my bag. Anyone have exp w/their overall durability? I keep my stuff carefully in cases/bags but who knows. Thanks.

Don't have the Original model....but I think it should hold up well and especially since you take care of your things....

Check overy at http://philofaxy.blogspot.com/ for lots of great filofax (and other brands too...) info. You can post questions there on the Free For All Tuesday or Free For All Friday posts....

I have had several Filofax models; Malden, Cuban, and Bridle....all very high quality....

Also, have a leather Franklin Covey Classic size binder that is very well made too.

Been a few years since I last posted on this thread.....

FWIW, since my prior posts on earlier pages, I have returned to using Filofax binder from the Rhodia Webnotebook. Not long ago, my job scope expanded tremendously and I needed the flexibility of a ring-bound binder over the bound journal.

@ArchiMark One of the aspects that appealed to me is the ability to re-arrange sections around w/a Filofax. Sometimes I don't want to toss out papers instead I'd rather shuffle it around to a better place.
