Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

That washable blue is really light.

BTW, do you write enough for all those pens? Maybe you should send more pens to penpals.rolleyes.gif

That washable blue is really light.

It varies a lot from pen to pen and paper to paper, but with most combinations it is pretty light. I have one lever action Sheaffer with a conical nib that writes much darker with it on the same paper than any other pen I've used it in, and it doesn't seem to be much wetter than some of the others. I don't understand.

It is great for testing new (to me) old pens I've cleaned out, as it super safe, flows well in almost any pen that isn't clogged, and I can get a feel for how well the pen is flowing from how dark or washed out the ink is in that pen. If you need to align the tines or try to adjust the gap you can do it with the old Skrip Blue still in the pen for testing, and it washes off your fingers pretty well.

I just finished cleaning up a lot of 5 Sheaffer Cartridge Pens (aka 60's student pens), and I was using this cart for testing them. Between testing them, I was using/storing the cart in the above pen.

BTW, do you write enough for all those pens?

Probably not; many of them were inked with a less than full charge for sample testing. Two of them are already empty or different and two are very close.

Brillant Red looks a little like Brilliant Orange Red...

And MrCharlie, be sure to save those cartridges.

It is very orange. It dries redder, but it is very orange when it goes on the paper. It's also not very opaque, almost like a text marker.

Currently inked and in use...

Sorry about the quality of the picture, I need to sort the saturation out on my camera...the inks look way better than that in real life.

Here's what I have inked.

The Pelikans are my normal writing pens.

The Safari lives almost permanently in the inside pocket of my coat as my "on the go" pen.

The Kaigelu is really quite poor and is only used for addressing envelopes and the like.

Here are the pens I am using at work, with some cheap 20lb copy paper, taken with my cell phone:

Edit: I just noticed that I accidentally didn't put the pens in the right order. The Esterbrook and Lamy should be switched around. :)

SkyOrchid, those are some unique and beautiful pens. What's the ringtop on the bottom? Is it a vacuum filler like a Pilot 823?

Pen Sheaffer Agio, M, Tranquil Yellow

I hope using less than a B nib hasn't been too traumatic! :)

Thank you!!! I'm enjoying it!
