I totally understand matching the inks to the outside of the pens.

That would get me into trouble with more than a few. Which ink would you match to a clear demonstrator?

Noodler's Blue Ghost?

Haha!

I just got a new Lamy Safari in white and I am seriously challenged as to what ink I should use. I'm looking at the grey o-ring... I think I'll try J.Herbin's Gris Nuage...

MontBlanc Oyster Grey.... I love the shading/variation and the ease of cleanup.... it's great... especially when you can find it on sale...

I was just admiring your earlier post! How can you resist such lovely shading :)

To be completely honest.... it is the first grey I have used that does not seem like "washed out black" ... it is a grey with depth. Realize this is coming from a Noodler's Ink nut... not a MB fanatic. I think it is ironic that I have MB ink in a Noodler's Pen right now... and Noodler's Liberty's Elysium in my MontBlanc 149. The irony helps me sleep at night... that and I finally talked my wife into accepting that it is cool enough outside to start using the flannel sheets again.

Yeah, gray is not washed out black!

So, I ran out of ink in some pens and had to refill, and I wanted to post up some pics for another demonstrator user. So, here are some of the pens today.

What? Blue is not a color? :)

The Future now has Waterman Florida Blue, and the Agio now has Noodler's Dragon's Napalm (Orange); seemed the right next ink to try, given the season.

FIRST POST!!!

Long time lurker... first time poster!!!

My inked girls are below. I tried to match barrel and ink color as much as possible.

The Waterman was originally inked with Herbin - Orange Indien, but she was not happy. She became real dry/skippy and very scratchy, we switched to PR - Black Magic Blue and now she is singing... :clap1: I am waiting on Diamine Orange to see if I can make both of us happy !!

I am also looking for a darker red... The Waterman red.. is just "meh".. (I am considering Noodler's Red-Black and Widow Maker)

They are all fantastic writers!! The waterman can be temperamental with some inks thou. :glare:

What makes the Waterman so temperamental? Did you find the red you want?

Lol, blue is a color and you seem to be experiencing the 50 shades of blue. Glad to know you are trying Napalm which I think of as Merry Mercurochrome.

  • 2 weeks later...

So, I used up all the ink in my various pens and I had to clean them and refill them.

Oh, and I got a few new ones. embarrassed_smile.gif

So, here's an updated picture of my currently inked babies.
