Eversharp Id Please?

Could anyone ID this small Eversharp please? Any information on its value is very welcome too!

The ruler is in inches.

On the bottom of the cap, as well as on the bottom of the barrel, is engraved 1/10 14K %G.F. Pat Made in USA. (in very tiny letters and I only have a 2.5x magnifying glass).

Nib reads Eversharp 14K PAT Made in USA and has a tiny tiny tiny bit of flex, but feels pretty stiff.

Thanks!

I think it is a '1948-53 Eversharp Golden Symphony fountain pencil set in 14K GF' - penlibrary has a good image here and here.

Currently using:Too many pens inked to list, I must cut back! :) I can guarantee there are flighters, urushi, and/or Sheaffer Vac-fillers in the mix!!!

Hi,

This model is actually not a Symphony but an Envoy. The pen shows some similarities to the later Symphony indeed except for the cap.

Unfortunately there is little information available on the Eversharp Envoy. A thread with interesting background can be found here:FPN Symphony or Envoy

This is what I love about the FPN - there is so much experience with pen history, it is amazing! Thanks for catching that, and sorry on my misidentification

Thanks joris! An Eversharp Envoy it is then. Turns out to indeed be a hard one to ID then.

In Quinden's defence, the Envoylink on that website leads to the same Golden Symphony picture/info.

Any ideas on value?

I see there's a Buy It Now on Ebay for 200 USD, but looking through his other items for sale I'm guessing that's pretty overpriced?

Although 'rare' of course always makes me happy/hopeful ;)

Hi,

I have a set of these. Pen and pencil in case (mint - they were barely used, if at all) - both pen and pencil are beautiful to write with. Long and thin, and quite light. Doesn't hold an awful lot of ink, because (IIRC) it has a shaped J-bar that protrudes from the outer wall, so only a thin sac fits. They're very elegant looking though. I haven't seen any others, so it's safe to say they're fairly rare.

I can't add anything to the model discussion. I think it's an Envoy.

The feed is based on a Skyline. The nib is small but nice. It has ready flex if you want it, so you can get reasonable variation, but it's not wild flex like some earlier pens. You can take notes with it and write quite quickly too. I had some problems with mine at one stage, but it was something to do with the ink I was using (too watery). I reverted to trusty Florida Blue, and it was fine.

I can't remember what I paid, but I'm sure it was under $100 for the set, so it sounds steep at $200. Mind you, I thought I got mine cheap!
