Hoot, Hoot. My bottle arrived this morning. I'm so thrilled to see the bottle sitting on my work table!

I haven't had a chance to ink up a pen with it yet, but as soon as I do, I will try to write a review and post it in the Ink Review section.

BeachBum, I'm so thrilled with the speed with which it finally arrived once it hit US shores. Thanks for all of this effort. The packaging was great.

I am glad to hear that so many are hitting mailboxes across North America! If you have not received an e-mail or PM from me yet about any additional shipping/packing charges, you will have it before Wednesday morning. Enjoy!

And, for all those (can't believe how many) who are interested in another round, I may step up and do another one (that Shocking Blue looks really cool). If so, I will start a new thread with all the details.

Have a wonderful day!

My Bottle of #10 arrived yesterday I has just filled the the three pens I have intended to do ink test with first. I guess I got to do some writing to empty one or two of the pens quick.

My Ijzer-galnoten blauw/zwart # 10 arrived this afternoon while I was out fishing.

An already wonderful day turned even better when I arrived home & opened up the box.

Oh my!

Kudos & thanks to Bob & his wife for making this ink buy possible.

I'm interested to hear how everyone likes their Akkerman bottles/ink.

BeachBum - was this too painful for you, or would you consider doing it again? I'd be interested.

I am very pleased with my Akkerman # 10 Ijzer-Galnoten blauw/zwart ink & bottle.

Not only is this bottle large (150 ml) & unusual in shape, it makes filling any pen a snap.

No more fishing around to find the right depth to immerse the nib into the ink.

The chamber in the neck section of the bottle takes care of all that. There is just the right amount of ink in the chamber to fill most pens. (I only use Sailor's small capacity standard converters & their smaller size, 14K nibs.)

After I fill my converter, there is still lots of ink left in the chamber (maybe enough for two or more Sailor converters).

When finished, you "burp" the bottle to clear the neck of ink & you're done.

Akkerman # 10 iron-gall blue/black ink seems well behaved with all my wet & wide-grade italic nibs (0.6 mm.-1.1 mm.).

When finally cured, this ink turns darker than R&K Salix, but finishes lighter than either Diamine Registrars or MB Midnight Blue. In my experience, a mid-range blue/black.

I've been so happy with this ink & bottle, that I have acquired a second bottle of # 10 through a Toronto group-buy, kindly arranged by Raging Dragon.

Good stuff,........this!

I've been eyeing these Akkerman inks for ages, specifically Voorhout Violet. If there's a chance of another group buy, I'm in for sure.
