Rohrer & Klingner Verdigris

One difference from other brands I noted today. When writing on a Paperblanks notebook page [don't know the paper weight], this ink bled through paper using a B nibbed MB pen where other inks had not. The bleed through equalled what I observed using Ku-jaku in a 3B M1000 Pelikan.

Anyone else noticed it behaving differently from other dark inks in that color family?

I like the dark shade of Verdigris, but I have noticed that the green component can separate out over time in the pen and perhaps in the bottle. I have it in an Osmiroid 65 and, last time I cleaned the pen, green was coming out long after the blue-black components were gone. Verdigris does tend to darken in the pen as well, so diluting seems like a good idea - distilled water would be safest.

I must say that I do like the look of this ink and particularly it's vintage appearance, which appeals to me as a user of older pens. Thanks for a useful review.

I love this ink in my bigger nibs. Wonderful wet behavior and I like the color when it dries. Good business ink.

I mean, I agree that it's not living up to the definition of "Verdigris" but I don't think that makes it a bad ink exactly. It's really NOT a blue-black. It's like a teal-black and it really is a nice tradeoff for business. Very well behaved, as yo usay.

exactly.

And... since the ink is so concentrated and looks good diluted: when I run out of ink, I just add a bit of water in my pen, and I can finish the day. It's a great ink.

Everything is impermanent.
