If You Only Had One....

That is indeed a good question. I would think, for most people, it would either be a pen that performs better than any other in their possesion, or one that has the most sentimental value. For me, it is a straight tie between a 25 year old rotring 1.1 nibbed art pen, that will literally write on any paper it comes across, and my mont blanc starwalker black mystery which was a present and to me is a work of art.

The rotring has no sentimental value of sorts, it was a cheapie all those years ago and they are still sold today. Pure function. The mont blanc however is full. Of charm and can associate some nice memories due to why it was given to me...... Add to that it is running with waternman south seas blue and leaves a lovely blue line.....

Decided. It would have to be the mont blanc.

But now..... I seem to be using my twsbi 540 at work every day, especially now i have the 1.1 nib on it. Its not a pen, its a system, a collection of nibs, bottles...

When I was in college, I lived with only one pen. A schaeffer that I bought at the "antique" store. $6 - bright red. It was probably twenty years old at the time. I used it for a year until I found an Esterbrook - green - still working. Then I had two pens. I was rich! Come to think of it, I'm sure I still have those two pens.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

If I only had one? Depends on the paper thats left in the world. If it was cheap copier paper it would be my Parker 51 fine CI.

If good quality fountain pen friendly paper left in this world then I would choose M800 fine BL(CI)

If was a world that made no diopter lenses for people to read with then I'd have to use big font. Then I'd choose a M800 1.3 stub (which I don't have yet)
