only 1 pen then durability is needed: Lamy 2000

Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing

Mine would be magic pen that changed into whichever fountain pen I wanted to write with at the moment.

In the current edition of Dungeons and Dragons they'd call this a "dynamic fountain pen." I approve.

+1000.

Currently using:Too many pens inked to list, I must cut back! :) I can guarantee there are flighters, urushi, and/or Sheaffer Vac-fillers in the mix!!!

I don't own it, but I would still choose the Visconti HS with bronze trim.

“It has forever been thus: So long as men write what they think, then all of the other freedoms - all of them - may remain intact. And it is then that writing becomes a weapon of truth, an article of faith, an act of courage.”

Aurora Optima - perfect for my small hand.

I only have two pens - an Aurora Optima and others.

My best daily user pen of course. My 149. I thought the 51 was the best for carrying around until I got my 149.

Would have to be my slightly troublesome Bronze Homo Sapiens.

Are we allowed to change the ink we use?

No, wait, my little Pelikan M600...

No, wait, my HS...

No.... Too difficult.

It would have to be beautiful, reliable, carry a lifetime warranty, use standard international cartridges/converter, rugged and multifunctional...

the Yard-O-Led Viceroy Grand in either the Barleycorn or Victorian pattern. Big, durable, non-slip surface, smooth writing, balanced and can function as a close quarters weapon should anyone get close enough to tell if I am really limiting it to just one fountain pen.

As i sit here surrounded by a few dozen pens, it's a bit difficult to choose one. But some of the possibilities would be:

Lamy 2000 fine nib.

Pelikan Piccadilly Circus, fine nib.

Waterman Edson, fine nib.

Franklin Christoph 1901, cursive italic nib.

Montegrappe Defi, medium nib.

Conway Stewart 100 Poinsettia, fine nib.

But in reality, it would likely be a Lamy Al-Star, extra fine.

I don't wish to think about an answer, as this is the type of thing that keeps me up all night. :gaah:

"Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?" Patrick Henry

Since my pulse quickened at the mere thought of such a tragedy, I'm going to stop thinking about it and instead grab as many of my beloved FPs as I can and run for the door ... "my precious" :)

Only one? Then it would be a Vanishing Point M. I would have to have the nib worked on to try and get it as smooth as possible.

Sailor 1911 large demo with M nib converted into an eyedropper.

Good thing I look forward to new pens arriving to try to knock it off the throne.

I already do only have 'one'...

MB 146 with M nib ground to MF CI.

This would replace my current only pen a 146 with F nib. Okay, technically I have a Diamond 540 and Phileas but can't really remember when I used them last...

The rhodium Namiki Bamboo -- all metal (so it's durable), huge capacity Con-70 converter (easy to change inks, but holds a lot), large size (better for aging fingers), butter-smooth nib ... and beautiful to boot! HP
