Is the Piquadro a 5-pen case or 3-pen case that you managed to squeeze 5 into?

Sam, a three pen case...iirc..left to right..Pelikan M1000..Ancora Cielo..Montblanc Diplomat..

and sandwiched in the front..full size Parker Vacumatic "51"..first generation Parker "21"

MP..which fit nicely between the OS pens..

Some questions...

The seller says that it only has an elastic loop at the top for each pen. Does that work enough to keep the pens from touching each other nearer the bottom? Are there no dividers?

Is it a nice soft leather or firm / hard? Did it have a strong "chemical" smell at first?

There are no devices however they don't seem to be needed. The pens only touch if I shake the case side to side vigorously. There was no chemical smell at all it just smells like leather and it is very soft leather.

I see what looks like the same pouch on a "regular" FP site for a chunk less.

 

One of my issues of this style, and of the penvelope, is that while it might be great for storing / carrying your pens, you can't see them -- just their tops.

I've found that when carrying 2-3 pens I don't mind being able to see only the top of the pens. But with 12, it's not just "carrying"... I want to see the whole pens myself not for displaying, but for my own selecting and enjoyment.

 

I saw it for USD$35 (only black, and it looks like the same pouch, but may not be) at Main Street Pens

I was thinking of getting one, so don't buy 'em out :-)
