Are we just talking about Margarita's or can we drink them too? I'm sure tequilla is fine for cleaning sludge from pens...

If you think I'm wasting a good shot of Sauza or Herrera in a pen, think on!

There are limits!

If this is happening?! O ye of little...........etc.

j/k....counted in! Confirmation of date/time/whose round? will follow in due course :)

What's your flag? I really should've kept my Observer's Book of Flags when I was a boy....

Glad the "if" has been resolved and looking forward to meeting everyone. I'll bring some fun pens and paper. And if anyone is interested in owning an NOS MYU701 that stowed away in my bag, I can bring that too.

As for the flag, it's Wisconsin. As I live in California now, it's a display of home state pride.

Look forward to meeting you too, mori :) the 701 is an unusual one, nib being the barrel? I look forward to seeing it! Would like to say I'd trade you, but not sure you'd go for a brace of Sonnets, lol.

Anyone else for the Hole? my rough reckoning says about five, but numbers is all Greek to me.......

+1 for the Coal Hole @ 2pm .... Does that mean It would be appropriate for me to dig out my old "ABC Miner" badge (sorry !)

More seriously, whilst I do not normally sell on my ink sacs, it anyone needs any then PM me and I can bring them along (£1.10 ea, just let me know the size you need)

Thanks Paul :) I'd need some sacs, but not sure of sizes: one for an Eversharp Symphony, couple for Skylines, one for that striped Duofold (decided I should have a go myself, lol)....

I'm also going to bring some swaps/ sells just in case: a few Sonnets, an Aurora Ypsilon.

Selling or swapping is not my primary intent tho!

But as like you this is a new experience, who knows?

And my new MB Meisterstuck 12 arrived today (a big thanks to Dubravka & Miroslav of Penkalapens!) I gotta show that off - its gorgeous!

Looking forward to meeting you all - I hope the Coal Hole won't be too crowded so we can colonise a corner. Declare UDI perhaps! (unilateral declaration of inkdom).

See you tomorrow, front bar by the mirror (hoping that area is free).... Or look in the corners!

Gentlemen,

Thanks for a thoroughly pleasant few hours. I know I had a good time because I'm covered in ink. Very pleased that Northlodge took away my ink mistake and that I beat Steviebee to the 'cheapest pen' award. Mori brought along the most dazzling selection of Sailors and let everyone play with them.

Looking forward to seeing you all next month (date to be agreed) but after that, made a note for the first Sunday in September, as a farewell pen meet for Mori.

Drat, wish I'd seen this earlier instead of 24 hours too late! Sounds like you had a good time.

Please give lots of notice for the next meeting (if nearby ex-Londoners are allowed to join in ....) I often work on Sundays, but can arrange to be off if I have a few weeks' notice.

I chose my user name years ago - I have no links to BBS pens (other than owning one!)

Hi All

I did a search & the only pen club for London seemed to be London Ontario (hi guys!), so...

Any London, England FPNers up for a coffee/pub/house meet?

As it's such a big city, I thought it might be good if we got an idea of everyone's location - although a central meet would probably be best anyway....

I'm in Leyton E10

(And of course if there is an established London Pen Club or whatnot, let us know!)

Not quite London but close enough for jazz. Happy to be part of a central London meet for pen chat/swaps/trades. Let me know when and where...Ontario is a bit of a commute though...

But well worth it, I assure you.

Oh what fun we had!

My thanks to you orangepenguin, northlodge and mori for making the meet so enjoyable and, f or me, very educational! I am a total noob compared to you guys!

Especial thanks to penguin for fettling my Starwalker - at last the damn thing is writing as it should, thanks to a bit of feathery nibmeistering. Lesson learnt, I will pay more attention to my nibs!

Thanks also northlodge for taking my Moore to the hospital and for the sacs.

:)

And you all have such lovely pens: that retractable beauty from OP, northlodge's fine and dandy Summits (and that great syringe-filler) and mori 45, wow... The M 90 surely will be a design classic and I'm still in awe of the Eagle nib. Thank you all for a delightful afternoon! See you on the next one in August. And yes, a leaving do for mori in September is a must.

bbs: no worries. I also work weekends so as much notice will be given as possible. Just keep the thread on watch. :)

Scrawler, hi! I had a good friend in your London and yes, tho I never visited, I agree! It is and I wish I had! All my best to the Ontario Londoners...

Actually I am not in London, Ontario. I live out in the sticks in the middle of the boreal forest. I used to live in Ealing (your London) and would attend your pen posse if I were there. One of my nieces lives in Surrey, just south of you and works in the city, so I will let her know about your group. She has a nice little pen collection, all a bit more modern than mine, but then, she is a modern young woman.

Sounds good - out in the boreal forest! Lucky for me I have Epping Forest just a short ride away when I need to have some tree quiet...

Your niece would be most welcome :)

Just to give a heads up: next meet of the Penury Palace Support Group will be one of the first two Sundays in August ( 5th or 12th) , either at the Hole or the RFH. Will confirm soon as.

Sorry to chime in late...it was wonderful to be at the inaugural London Pen Meet--thanks Steviebee, Northlodge and Orangepenguin for the very warm welcome and for showing some beautiful pens, teaching me all about filling systems and how to smooth a pen with flippers.

Steviebee, for the record, this is the pen we were talking about: http://tinyurl.com/bo6f66q

For those requesting more notice, please note Steviebee's post above regarding the date. Hope to see you in a month!

Oh right, just the birds & fish huh? - you got somethin' against bees?

;)

We're glad you made it mori45. You have consummate taste in the Japanese modern pen dept! did you find that M701 or 2?

By golly, that Chaos is something else....exactly what, I can't quite tell. I'll bet Lemmy has five & Megadeth a whole case-full. Much as I love a skull, think I'll stick to wearing em on my fingers!

Looking pretty firm for the 12th - get your diaries out and your sterling silver pencils sharpened. On three, lick!

Bees do not have flippers, do they?
