I was at Akkerman last week and they told me that they no longer sell this ink as it is quite problematic with a majority of pens.

Akkerman Zuiderpark blauw-groen is a very nice ink and I agree with the topic starter. But my experience is that this ink doesn't match with all the pens. It needs a wet nib and a generous feeder.

It works well with my Pilot Custom 74 Medium and Récife Crystal M.

It gives a drier flow to my Pelikan 800 M.

It struggled completely with my Pilot capless F and Hero 100.

I tried a sample of this ink and found it to be on the dry side, though it worked well enough in the wet writing Visconti I tested it in.

Have they dropped this colour, or the entire line of inks?

Uh, oh. Please tell me more... I've got a bottle of this ink and am now VERY worried.

I just called them to get this dissaster out of your system.... :crybaby:

But the answer might cause some shock with other FPN members :o

Your Zuiderpark Blauw Groen isn't in any danger. No problems occur with this color. They still had a vast amount of that beautiful color

However...... number 8 and number 10 (the Ijzer Galnoten/ iron gall) and Diep-Duinwater Blauw (a blueish-black) are causing problems in some pens. Therefor, Akkerman will stop selling these two inks when the stock runs out. :bonk:

So: if you are really into the IronGall ink from Akkerman one should really hurry to get hold of the last bottles. Sold out will mean no more bottles available......ever......

And last night I emailed Akkerman and got the following answer (quoted with permission -- Akkerman seemed upset that wrong information had been posted on FPN)

For your information the ink will NOT discontinue Zuiderpark Blauw-Groen.

I had a previous question regarding the ink. I don't know how this information got into the Fountain Pen Network.

We still have this ink and as far as I know. And I don't have any complaints from customers that the ink cause problems in pens.

With kind regards,

So it would seem that perhaps Wideguy conflated some comments.

For Akkerman's Zuiderpark Blauw-Groen ink, then, it would seem to be: disaster averted, nothing wrong here, it's all a mistake.

 That could have been my phonecall this afternoon....

As I already told you: no problem. It must have been misunderstood.

Number 10 and number 8 are in danger of extinction (but still in stock now.)

Hahahaha! What happened to Yama-budo??? You're so fickle. :P

Please don't make me choose :)

Yama Budo will soon be my favorite again once I get that factory stub from Mauricio!

Seeing as I happen to have a pen with a Sheaffer factory stub inked with with Yama Budo at the moment: it's a nice writing combo. I was using it for my working notes yesterday. The colour of Yama-budo doesn't do much for me, but like the few other Iroshizuku inks I've tried it sure feels nice when writing.
