Devil's Dictionary

Wow! You manage to thrill me everyday, thanks. I love your handwriting, your stunning artwork and also reading which pens and inks you're using. thumbup.gif

After this lot, I can now see why there's so much fuss about Noodler's Bay State Blue and why people put up with how temperamental it is. I have to buy some, it's stunning and worthy of your amazing pics. Thanks

I agree about the Baystate Blue. I used a sample and may actually end up purchasing the ink as well. I will definitely have to dedicate a pen to it. My bathroom sink still has a blue tinge. Hehe. I am glad that you are enjoying the execise. I am too. Here are more words: BACCHUS, and BACK. I had a few false with BACK. Sorry 'bout that.

Today's set of words include: BAPTISM, BAROMETER and BARRACK. I used an Omas princess pen with Penman Sapphire. This was one of my first inks ever and I loved it. I got my hands on this bottle, but I was underwhelmed. Alas, one does evolve.

The next word is BEHAVIOR. It took me a while to come up with a half-decent idea for this one.

Well, moving along, here are BERENICE's HAIR (That was fun to draw) and BILLINGSGATE. My vocabulary is certainly expanding. That is quite an interesting synonym of scoundrel. Although I get the feeling that if I use it today, few people will comprehend.

ArchiMark, I am glad you are enjoying it. I have learned quite a bit myself. New vocabulary as well as some history... and penmanship and sketching. Here are today's words: BIRTH and BONDSMAN.

Scrawler and Ethernautrix. Thanks for the compliments. Actually, after the BENEDICTINES post (110) marked the first time I ever finish a journal. I for got to celebrate that. Yay! Today's word is BLANK VERSE.

Just stumbled across this thread and have only read this page; 2 more of fun to come another day.

You have a lovely italic-style hand, as well as a sharp and devilish mind and acute eye for humor.

I cannot take credit for the acerbic wit of Ambrose Bierce (the author of the Devil's Dictionary) but I have most certainly enjoyed interpreting his writings and turning them into sketches. I have used the exercise of transcribing his book as a tool to learn italic-style writing. It make me happy that you are amused. Here is the word for today: BORE.

Accepting that the written wit is Bierce's, you're the artist 'interpreting his writings' in such detailed, eyecatching sketches. Thanks for the fun.
